At that point, I had to put him in the crib because he was trying to climb out of the swing all the time. The transition was pretty seamless. It took a little time to adjust, during which he woke up slightly more often, but he learned to sleep on his belly and it was fine.</p> <p>I was so anxious to get him into the crib because I kept reading about how awful the transition was, but when he was ready, it was easy. We tried unsuccessfully at 2.5 mo. He started taking 30 min naps everywhere so I transitioned him to the crib for naps when we were home then. Side note do you guys have a rock n play? Then I tried to put him in his crib and was convinced he would freak out. I built it up in my head to be this THING. She sleeps in her bassinet at night fine but her naps are in the swing in the living room and her afternoon nap is 2-3 hours in it. I've decided I want to move her to the crib in her room now before she outgrows the bassinet and swing and all of a sudden we have to deal with a full switch. I figured I'd start with her naps in the crib because I'll have more patience in the daytime when I'm not trying to sleep too and then once those are easy she can do nights there too. Well her morning nap today lasted less then ten minutes in the crib instead of an hour-ish in the swing. Her first stretch of the night is always in the swing. Usually 3-4 hours. Then I will transfer to her crib. She almost always wakes up within the hour in crib. If I try to put her back in the crib she'll wake up in 40 minutes or less. </p> <p>I'm kinda afraid I'm creating a swing dependency?! Obviously for now I'm not going to stop because it works and I'm getting sleep! But at some point she will outgrow the swing. :(. I plan to keep trying the crib.</p> <p>Wondering how swing to crib transitions went for others? </p>
