Update: So we toured both the new places this week. Daycare A can get us in for the Fall in the younger toddler room, but my daughter will probably be one of the older kids in that class.

So I think our plan will be to take both spots, put her in Daycare B right now, and then in the Fall reassess and see if we still want to move her over to the other place. Daycare B would transition her in the fall to the next age range room anywhere, so no matter what her teachers will change.

Craziness!

My LO will switch 3 times in one year. We moved so I had to pull her out of her first one. It was a month before I could find ANY place so I had to fly the grandmas out. Then she had a spot Dec-March. She starts her 3rd day care the first week of March. It's farther away, more expensive, does not include food, and we don't like the yard or the dog. LO will move back to day care #2 in June when a spot opens up again. I'm not crazy about the changes but I'm sure she'll be fine.

So I vote save your $800 a month and make the switch.

ETA - just realized Daycare A is also cheaper than Daycare B.

My 18 month old goes to daycare at a center near my work. I am looking at new jobs and probably going to be getting a new one within the next month.

Current daycare's price would go up an extra $800 a month once I leave my job because we get a discount, and it would also be 30 minutes out of the way for the new job.

There are two daycares right in our town, which would be much more convenient. They are about the same cost as we are paying right now.

Daycare A has amazing reviews from more than 10 people that I've talked to, and it is a great place. But they won't have a spot for my DD until the Fall.

Daycare B is okay, its similar to our existing place but some specific teachers have bad reviews. They have a spot immediately.

What would you do? I think ideally I'd like her to be in Daycare A, but I also think it might be too much to move her to Daycare B for a few months, then to Daycare A. I also can't imagine spending an extra $800 a month until the fall to keep her in her current place.
