@Oxana: Yeah maybe not during the cruise if it's too much. My LO couldn't have milk so I researched the recommended daily amount of fat for brain development because I was really worried about it! It's not hard to manage with other foods, and it's really just the first 24 months. A spoonful of coconut oil in his oatmeal or a smoothie every day met most of the need. We made up the rest elsewhere. If warming up the milk is inconvenient for you and you want to stop I think you can give yourself permission to do so with no guilt!

@MrsSRS: You think so? I'm not sure how much of a big deal it is. It seems like I read a while ago about how the fat in milk is really important for their brain development...but like you pointed out, it's only a week, so it won't really matter. I guess a part of me wonders if I should not go cold turkey during the cruise because she'll have so many other adjustments to make. Hm. I'll definitely have to consider that.

Maybe the cruise would he a good time to go cold turkey. Worst case scenario is she doesn't drink any milk. No biggie since she can drink water and eat regular food, right?

@Mamaof2: Nope, she's had a straw cup since we introduced WCM at 12 months. If we get a warmer, we'll just have to bring an extra bottle to warm it in and pour it into the straw cup.

@Alivoo01: Hm. I might have to try that. She spits out the milk if it isn't warm enough, though. :meh:

@Mamasig: Ha, I guess we only have ourselves to blame. We created a monster!

I never warmed their milk. They drank it cold from birth.

Cold turkey. When we started giving him WCM, i warmed it up because he refused to drink it. Then I asked daycare, and they said they give it to him cold and drinks it just fine. Not as much as he would if it was warm, but does. Well then!

So we just started giving it to him cold and he eventually got used to it.

LO is 22 months, and I've been trying to get her to drink cold milk by gradually decreasing the warmth of her milk. But if I heat it less than 38 seconds, she'll barely drink it. She just loves it warm. She will eat cold cereal, though.

E have a cruise coming up next month, and I don't think we will have access to a microwave. I guess I'll have to buy an electric bottle warmer. Meh. For those of you who switched to cold milk, what's your secret?
