@Clementine12: For my second pregnancy I moved towards the end of my pregnancy. I did the same thing as @DillonLion: by finding a practice ahead of time, and having all my information sent over and making sure they could take me so I wouldn't have any interruption in my appointments and any testing/screening

I moved mid pregnancy (a few weeks ago), but I knew way in advance.

I found a practice I liked and called to make sure they could take me once we moved. It gave me peave of mind to know they would have openings once we got to our new city.

I switched with my son at 32 weeks. Just get your records. That's all I had to do. My new doctor was very nice about everything.

I moved cross country at 32-34 weeks with my first. 32 when I left and 34 when I arrived. I just went with a hospital group, so I had no issues. I'm sure you'll find someone, but earlier may be better.

The only thing I would consider is whether midwives book up early where you live. Most providers have a maximum number they take for each delivery month, meaning they could book up. I had to take my second choice because the first was already booked up when I contacted her at 16 weeks!

I found out at my 12 week appt that my midwife is retiring 2 months before my due date. I'll be working with her and possibly a doula to find a new midwife who is VBAC friendly but I'm curious when I should be trying to make the switch? My gut feeling is near the end of my 2nd trimester - after 20 weeks or 24 weeks. But maybe i should feel a bigger need to figure this out early? Am i not thinking of any pros/cons to waiting or not considering a better timeline? Baby is due on Christmas Day if that affects things.

TIA bees -
