I'm only 21 weeks but I live in a very hot climate (south FL, in the mid-90s already this weekend). My feet are mostly ok, maybe a little swollen, but when I am out in the heat, my hands swell and I can't get my rings off. It goes away when I'm inside in the AC. I am worried about my feet/legs as I get further along

I'm pretty thin as well, I don't really know what to do about it. My BP is fine. I try to drink a lot of water, that's about it! And not stay outside when it's really hot out!

Not to be an alarmist, but if you're swelling just do a quick check of your blood pressure to make sure everything is ok. I had preeclampsia, so I get worried about swelling! You're probably fine though!

@LindsayInNY: ughhh I'm sorry I had extreme edema around 26 weeks until birth my feet were soooo bug that I wore big slippers at work (teacher) and we'll TBH out too....lol
Compression socks didn't work for me they would just make my legs swell
Drink tons of water and elevate over your heart as much as possible
I would lay on bed and DH would put my feet up.in 2 couch cushions!!!
Best of luck, almost there!!!

I wore these Danskos my entire pregnancy. Super comfortable, adjustable but very subtley hidden velcro straps, low to the ground and very stable, but went with all my work clothes just fine. (I promise they don't look this hideous in real life): http://amzn.com/B00DUJ80RI

Cuter fun sandals I also recommend Sanuk Yoga Slings. Comfy and come in a million colors.

Drink lots of water and don't sit for too long (take laps around the office if you can). When I got home I'd soak my feet in Epsom salt and keep them elevated. Foot massages from the hubby too ;-)

This was at 24 weeks, and I am a thin girl! So hopefully this makes you feel a little better, haha.

I wore flip flops (and even those left indents!) pretty much the entire last trimester, even though it was winter. Fortunately I'm in Texas, so it didn't matter too much.

I just got some cheap comfy shoes. They weren't the cutest shoes I have ever worn but I put comfort ahead of cute at 30+ weeks pregnant.

Epson salt bath helps, supposedly. My fingers swelled, but my feet didn't get too bad until the very end. I would make sure you have comfortable, supportive shoes. And if compression socks aren't an option, what about shape wear panty hose-the ones that shape your legs, not your tummy. Those seem like they would do something very similar.

Oh yes, I feel your pain! I've had swollen ankles & lower legs since 20wks I think. I've been wearing compression socks (there are nice looking ones by Sockwell, probably other brands on Amazon) & trying to drink more water or be more active during the day. When I wear dresses or capris I just try to grin & bear it. :bummed: I've heard drinking lemon water can help, but after 1wk of strong lemon water & no relief, I just went back to straight water.

Ugh this was my life for the final weeks! I wore flip flops to work and just explained to my manager I couldn't wear anything else :/. I bought nicer ones though! And at work I kept my feet elevated the whole time and tried to walk for five mins once an hour. And water water water.

I still gained crazy water weight- had lost it all by 10 days PP (20 lbs, from baby and water!)

Mine came and went. After I flew around 30 weeks they were awful but they went back to normal after a day of keeping my feet up, and brisk walking in good fitting sneakers. I also drank a lot of coconut water but I think that was more for the cramos.

Ugh, I've noticed this the last few days too - mostly in my feet, but I'm assuming my hands aren't far behind, and it's always worst after sitting at my desk for a full day. Drinking tons of water seems to help, and keeping my feet elevated when possible helps too - but I think this summer is going to be dedicated to flipflops as soon as I'm out of work.

I wore them at work where it's basically one "season" all the time- at home I just let them swell. The other thing that helped to a certain extent was drinking a gallon of water per day.

I've started the slow downhill journey to Fred Flintstone land. I've noticed that I'm starting to swell - feet/toes and fingers. Not sure if it's from sitting, walking a lot, fluids, salt, etc. At the beginning of the day I'm okay but by the end my shoes are tighter. Anything I can do to help? Should I get bigger shoes? I have 10 weeks left...
