I'm 35 weeks and the swelling started about a month+ ago. I've carried low, so this is partly to do with it. It has made sex really painful, though, so we've stopped. I just started swelling in my feet and legs, though, and I'd recommend the same thing for both; get a short walk in every day, and make sure you're getting your feet up regularly throughout the day, as well. My midwife suggests laying on the floor and getting your feet above your heart.

In my last month I got pretty swollen. My doctor wasn't concerned by it, she said it was all the extra blood flowing to that area.

When I was getting swollen my midwife told me 2-3 brisk 10 minute walks through the day would help. It's all the pressure there that cuts good circulation.

Since I've started taking note in walking faster periodically it's been MUCH better. =)

My doctor didn't mention it, but I feel like I am. It's def. uncomfortable. I think I read in "Belly Laughs" that this is totally normal. I think she actually compared it to 2 twinkies sandwhiched together which sounds pretty accurate to me!

I had the biggest fupa at the end of my pregnancy, seriously. It was crazy amounts of water retention, for me. I'm 11 days pp & have lost 40lbs (and am no longer swollen there either), so if you're retaining water too, that could be what it is

While my OB was doing my strep swab today, she mentioned that I seemed a bit swollen down there. She didnt seem too bothered by it though, but I'm wondering has anyone else experienced this? I'm 36 weeks.
