@grizz: I'm so glad to hear that the PT helped you through delivery. I'm so hopeful that I'm going to be able to get to that point.

I think I had this, but my MW always assured me it was "normal" to not be able to walk more than a few feet at a time or stand for a few minutes from 28 weeks on (yeah....)

I did have intense pain in my hips throughout my labor, although that might have been due to baby's position. But relief was instant!

@twodoghouse: My first OB ignored me when I told her I hurt, so I got another one to refer me to PT. The PT immediately discovered that my pelvis and hips were out of alignment, and guided them back in!

@Glitter: I got some instant relief, and the pain lessened at every subsequent appointment. I was completely pain free by 32 weeks (I think it started at 26-ish, and I went to PT at week 28) and I had no issues with it at delivery.

I had it with DD and it hurt SO BAD!!! Felt like I got kicked in the crotch if I tried to move. I had to use a support belt, but even then, it didn't make the pain go away. I will say that the pain was almost immediately gone as soon as the baby came out. Hang in there!

I am convinced I have this, but when I bring it up to my doctor she says it's round ligament pain, the pain of my uterus stretching, the general pain of having two babies in there, etc. But I really think this CAN'T be normal. But what do I know? I've never been pregnant before! I just keep limping (literally) along and thinking that some day it will be better (like when I deliver).

Just found this site- my PT basically has me doing repetitions of #4, 6, 10, and 12 every night, which help. I wasn't able to do the bridge or chair pose until recently, however. I've been doing #4 with a kickball, 20 reps, 3 times a day, and that really helps.

I have a version of this-when I fell on the ice last month, I dislocated my hip, and it was basically because these ligaments came out of alignment. Now, the relaxin won't let the joint stay in properly. I agree, it's so, so painful.

I will say, though, that a lot of heat and physical therapy have been helping. I'm still in pain, but I'm getting stronger. Two weeks ago, when I went to PT, my hip had stayed in alignment, but last week, it had come back out. I just keep doing my exercises, using heat, and it's slowly getting better.

I hope that you can find some relief!

Pretty sure I have this! Currently 38+4 and in so much pain! Can't walk, roll out of bed, put on clothes, etc... I've had it since about 32 weeks and when I explained the pain to my dr, she just acted like it was normal as the baby moves down. I hope you find some relief! I'm holding out until this baby is born.

@lizzywiz: Oh nice! My insurance is crappy so I doubt I'll get those benefits, but I'll gladly pay out of pocket for some relief!

@Fronkinzankinsbride: Well on the phone she said I should not do any heavy lifting or excessive walking, and I need to keep my knees together while coming off the bed... but I hope to get more info after the physical checkup on Saturday.

Mine wasn't that bad, but yes, I got diagnosed with it about half way through.
OB provided a brace for my hips and prescribed chiropractic. Insurance paid for weekly visits for the rest of my pregnancy. Helped a lot. Good luck!

Have you suffered from it? I spoke to my OBGYN on the phone and described my pain and she said it sounds like symphysis pubic dysfunction. I'm going to get checked out on Saturday, but in the meantime how do I cope? I can't roll in bed, get out of bed, put on my undies, get into the car or walk any distance without needing to grab my lady parts and feeling to cry. It feels like I've been beaten and my front parts will break in two.

Has anyone experienced this??
