I ended up getting Pitocin so I had swelling for about 15 hours after she was born, but the heartburn, groin pain etc was almost immediately gone. Sweet bliss!

The swelling took a week to go away but everything else went away right after giving birth. Ahhh, it felt so nice not to feel any pressure!

I didn't notice the heartburn at all after the birth but my feet were super swollen for a couple days from the IV fluids I had. I'm 8wks pp now and my feet have been killing me the past few weeks - really stiff and achy. Not sure if it's related to the pregnancy or not but hoping it goes away soon. Oh, and I still can't wear my wedding ring. I'm really afraid Ill have to get it resized.

It was so nice to move around and not have ligament or groin pain! That was immediate for me. There was new pain but it was so much better! :-)

It took a day or so for swelling and heartburn to go away. I had raging heartburn during labor. I had to ask for meds since I couldn't concentrate to push.
The carpal tunnel took several months to go away, but there is still a little bit of lingering tendonitis in my wrists.

I literally cannot wait to have this baby...I am afraid I am going to go off the deep end between the heartburn and swelling. I'm supposed to be laying down with my feet propped up to alleviate the swelling in my feet/legs...but laying down just triggers heartburn worse! SO FUN!

I was a bit upset after I had LO because I'd held her for an hour and didn't think of heartburn that whole time but as soon as they took her away to get cleaned up I realized I still had it. However, I had a meal and a shower then went to my non-delivery room and by the time I went there I didn't have heartburn anymore. So maybe an hour and a half to two hours before the heartburn left.
