@googly-eyes: we start with a small amount of each thing and add until he seems to be swooping it all off and not eating any more. it is time consuming! we've been trying to sign all done but.. he does not appear to notice yet! (9 months).

like @winniebee: I just keep giving him table food and eventually he starts just playing with it and not putting anything in his mouth

I figured that if we were consistent with giving him table food as every meal and no purees he would eventually learn that's all he's getting and eat his fill, if he wasn't before, if that makes sense!

@googly-eyes: I just kept giving him food til he consistently threw it off his tray and stopped eating. As with puréed she will let you know when she is done! Have you tried spoon feeding table foods like soups?

Oh I should also say that we have been just doing bits of table food followed by purees til she is full. I'm not sure how to tell if she's full as easily with table food. With purees she loses interest in the spoon, turns away, or even bats it away or tries to play with it, and I know she is done. With table foods I can't tell because she is messy and she likes to throw things on the floor all the time.

Dd is 12 months (eta Saturday at least!) and would happily continue purees and bottles if we let her...indefinitely. ;)

But she needs to really start working on table foods. She won't even eat the chunky purees- chunks only if she picks them up. However, I'm not really sure how much to give her? She can eat a good 6 oz of purees in one sitting but I really don't know how much that is in terms of table food.

Advice?
