@HLK208: lol ;)

One time LO fell off his changing table (which doubles as his clothing chest), but instead of falling onto the ground, he fell into an open drawer of clothing! I was horrified but he didn't mind and it didn't hurt haha. *blessing*.

Aww poor J! My J fell off our bed once when DH was with him, he cried but was fine in a couple minutes. I've bonked his head a few times on the door frames though...oh and once I tripped him with our (central) vacuum and he banged his head on the wall pretty hard. I totally understand the guilt but you're a fantastic momma!

When DS was probably about six months old, I was at my parent's house. I place him on the bed, far away from the edge (I thought) and somewhat surrounded by pillows. I went to the kitchen, which was a ways down the hall. He was rolling over really well by this point but I rationalized that it would just take a minute, there was no way he could get hurt.

Well, the next thing I heard was a thud and a squeal. I ran to the room, and there he was, squalling and red faced on the rug having rolled off the side of the bed and landing on his back. I was traumatized. I scooped him up, started checking him over, nearly feinted when I thought I found blood on the back of his head, then proceeded to put a cool cloth against where I thought he hit and cuddled him.

He's 17 months old now and he just last week fell off the bed in my office, backwards, onto his back and gave him and me both another good scare. But the good news is they bounce. They're springy. So long as it wasn't too far off the ground, and it sounds like the nightstand helped slow the fall down, then your little one will be fine, I promise. They're made of sturdier stuff than we mommas are at times.

And I actually measured how far off the ground my parent's bed was after I had calmed down and put him down for a nap so he could recover... I felt like the worst parent in the world.

1.5 times.

Once when we were staying in a hotel. He wouldn't fall asleep in the PnP and so I brought him into bed with us. I woke up myself up by grabbing his ankle before he hit the ground. Seriously.

The second time I was at my SIL's house and had forgotten to bring the PnP. He was napping on my SIL's Cali King buffered by pillows and blankets. I laid with him until he fell asleep, and got up to pee/get my phone before lying back down with him. He woke up when I was out of the room, crawled right over the pillow pile straight off the bed. Headfirst. Onto hardwood. From about 3' up. I almost threw up.

And he fell backwards off our our bed once (like 1.5' off the ground) when DH was playing with him.

It sucks, but it happens. I hope he's feeling better!

So sorry! This hasn't happened to me but we have polished concrete floors and DS tumbled while he was sitting and hit his head :sad: I have since bought a gigantic thick rug and won't sit him anywhere else on the floor even though he is a pro sitter now.

My name can be taken out of the cup as well! E fell off the bed at around 11 months and screamed bloody murder for the longest time. Fortunately w have carpet in our bedrooms so she wasn't seriously hurt, but she did have a rather painful looking carpet burn on her nose and cheek.

I'm sorry it happened to J - it happens to the best of us, so please don't beat yourself up, especially as you're unwell too! Hoping all of you feel better soon.... :-)

Pretty sure I'm officially out of the running for mother of the year after tonight.

We are all sick, J has it worst (ugh, of course) so with his extra fussiness I've just been letting him sleep w/me in the spare bed. Well...he rolled off. Rolled off the bed onto the nightstand THEN the floor...ugh. :-( his screaming was horrible, he was clearly terrified.

Tell me I'm not the only one who has a kid who fell off the bed...
