We take our stroller bassinet and a pop up tent with uv protection. Onesie or just a diaper is usually what baby is in. I think I'm going to grab a stroller fan too this week. We also bring a baby blow up pool for the toddler and dip baby's legs in.

We took LO to Florida when she was 13 weeks old. I ordered this full body swim suit for her from amazon, as well as a sun hat, and it worked well:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KFUSIZ4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Even with the spf outfit, we avoided going out in the middle of the day. I used a bit of Babo suncreen on her hands and feet. And I dipped her legs in the ocean to keep her cool. We stayed under an umbrella for most of our beach time. She seemed to enjoy herself!

Would you be comfortable leaving the stroller at the entrance to the beach? I found it to be really hot using a baby carrier, for both of us. A stroller with a big canopy and one of those attached fans might help keep her cooler during the walk back and forth from the house.

Have fun!

My youngest has been going to the beach since she was like two weeks. I definitely recommend a hat and something to cover her up (I think we just had her in a diaper and swaddled in a light blanket) and maybe a little sunscreen if you're out in the middle of the day. I either carried DD or used a carrier, because strollers don't do well on sand.

Careful about those big beach canopy tents if they don't have UV protection. The sun's rays filtered thru, plus bounced off the sand when we were at the beach with our LO when she was about three months old I think I'm echo-ing a comment from above, but my LO got a slight sunburn from being out a short while, and she was pretty covered up (but managed to sneak an arm out).

This is going to sound nuts, but watch out for reflected glare. Turns out, you can burn in the shade! Definitely a hat, and maybe one of those mister personal fans people use at amusement parks? They carry them at sporting goods stores. You can tuck a light muslin blanket over the carrier to shield little legs from the sun.

@atoz: whilst the baby is in the shade she wont need to wear pants because that will just make her hotter. at 10 weeks LO was very sensitive to heat so I dont know how well your daughter will enjoy being at the beach.

We have a small clip on fan for his stroller that could be great at the beach if it's really hot.
It's this one but we got it on amazon:
https://www.google.com/shopping/product/1392642018848843771?lsf=seller:7815,store:11043397685452291813,lsfqd:0&prds=oid:1881511637106767394&q=portable+fan&hl=en-us&ei=4JuSV-_rOIf5eMHjjPAC&lsft=gclid:COHThJuNiM4CFVZZhgodef8CNQ

What about a hat for while you're walking? Since it's a far-ish distance and there isn't a stroller sunshade to help.

We are getting ready to hit the beach for a couple of weeks with my family and our 10 week old daughter. We have a big beach canopy for shade, and because our house is about 5 blocks from the beach, I was planning on wearing her in the carrier when I walk down. (I'm nervous that a carseat/stroller combo would get stolen or clogged up with the sand.)

I'm not planning on having her out for an entire day--it's been pretty hot here--but is there anything I'm missing? Should she wear pants to protect her teensy legs while in the carrier? Is just a onesie ok while on the beach? Any tips & tricks for taking a LO to the beach would be much, much appreciated!
