My lo just started crawling at 7.5 mo so I'd say you have a 50 50 chance!
We haven't camped yet, but we've done several beach trips.
We take lots of baby sunblock (and checked that website to make sure its ok for baby skin) we also take a pop up baby tent for shade ($20 at target) and a small blow up pool ($5 at target).

Whenever one of us goes in the water, the other plays with him in the small pool.
I would be slightly worred personally about going completely in because of microbes/bacteria in the water, but I'd let him get his little toes wet.

My lo is drinking some water now, so if your ped says that's ok, I would reccommend for dehydration.
Also california baby makes natural bug spray. I would also use take a citronella candle if allowed or a electronic bug zapper.

She's just started to sit up and roll back to front. I don't know what she'll be doing in a month on the trip.

A bunch of my friends from college are getting together for a car camping trip at a lake next month. DH and I are excited for our first overnight with LO. LO will be 6 months when we go and she hasn't been in the water yet.

I'm from CA where there aren't a lot of lakes. What do I need to know about babies & lakes?

Any general sunshade recommendations and baby camping tips are appreciated.
