I've brought DD (4), DS#1 (2), and DS#2 (5 months) to my most recent Pap smear. It was like a freakin circus, but I had to. Couldn't find anyone to watch them!

LO sat on my chest when I had a pap smear at 6 w PP! Even yesterday at 12 months he sat on my chest while my midwife got new baby's heartbeat. He loves it!

4 months is fine.... 22 months (our latest bring her along with me to an appointment because DH had to work late) is a disaster!

I brought my son to my 6 and 12 week appointments, and my OB told me she loves when the babies come to appointments because she likes seeing that side of her job. I'd bring him :)

I'd bring him along. If he fusses or cries, so be it. You'll be able to attend to him pretty quickly since the internal only takes a few minutes. I'm sure the front desk staff would love to play with him , too!

I brought my LO to my 6 and 12 week pp appointments. My doctor told me I could hold him during my exams if needed, but there was a med student at my 6 week that held him for me and my favorite clinic nurse (she took care of us for every single appointment) held him during my 12 week appointment. I would have left him in his car seat or held him if they hadn't been there though.

Ok good!!! @petunia354: yeah he will be in his stroller! I'm not lugging that infant seat up the stairs to the office. We will take the elevator. Lol!!!

I didn't know if I was crazy or not for bringing him alone. I feel reassured now!

Being a SAHM during most weekdays, I had to bring #1 to all of my ob appointments for #2. It wasn't a big deal. I just set him up for success ahead of time (or when I bring #2, nurse just prior to the appointment so he will hopefully nap).

You are only indisposed for a few minutes during a pelvic exam/pap, so it's not like you can't calm him for a long duration. My littlest had a fit during my last appointment and the nurse loved rocking him.

I'd take him! I had wound check appointments at my OB every week from 1 week pp through 6 weeks pp and took LO to all of them because what else am I going to do with her? lol. I couldn't take her in her car seat because I wasn't released to carry that much weight yet so I always put her in my moby and she slept through every single appointment on my chest.

I brought my then 16 month old with me to mine! It was no biggie and my OB loved seeing him, since she took care of me throughout my pregnancy.

ETA: He was in his stroller, positioned near my head so he would not see anything.

I think it would definitely be fine to bring him, and I would hope the staff would be as accommodating as possible for you!

I have my pap and pelvic exam next Tuesday. My plan was to drop T off at the babysitters like usual, go to my appointment and then head in to work for a half day. Well my babysitter has an appointment that day and won't be abl to watch him. I can take off the rest of the day no problem, but I would have to take him to my appointment with me. I'll be indisposed a lot of the time and would just have to leave him in his car seat in the floor beside me. I'm nervous about doing this. What if he's fussy? He's only 4 months. But myOB that delivered T will be the one doing it, and he and his staff would be thrilled to see LO again. (they pouted when I went to my 6 week PP appointment without him).

Should I try and find other arrangements or would it be totally crazy just to tag him along with me for the hour?
