His cousin is also an incredibly talented photographer. Sports also runs in his family. DH was a very good football player. I can carry a tune if it's in the right range, but I'm nothing anywhere close to impressive like my dad, aunt, or cousins. And I have zero artistic talent...my dad and brothers are all great artists. My grandmother was a champion tennis player. My cousin is most likely going to the 2016 Olympics for gymnastics (currently world ranked), my brother has cerebral palsy and is a marathon runner. My other brother works coaching preschool sports.</p> <p>I can't play sport to save myself. Comically bad.</p> <p>DH's family are super academic. I think I've passed a little bit of that on to LO...the two of us can make up a silly song on the spot, and that always amazes DH!</p> <p>DH picked up his handiness and woodworking from his dad. His dad was an architect but never kept up with the technology, so he was laid off and held odd jobs until he retired. He's still really good at being handy and taught everything he knows to DH. I'm pretty amazed at how he can build a train table for LO in a weekend or that he remodeled our half bath on his own. In LO's room, he took one wall and put wainscotting 3/4 of the way up with a shelf at the top. Both my brother and I play instruments and sing and have relative/perfect pitch. Good dexterity comes from my dad - he's a dentist. I'm OK, but did NOT get near the same talent as they did. Neither of them actually draw anymore, so it's a dead talent.<br /> My DH is awesome at wood-working, and just understands how pieces fit together (super helpful skill), his dad is similar and he learned most of what he knows from his grandfather.
