We got hemp milk from whole foods and it was really delicious. We mostly do almond milk because of ease of finding it in the stores. But I think hemp milk tastes most like it and accordingly to mrs bee's post, it's the closest to cow's milk in terms of proteins, etc.

LO liked it and I'll probably get it when I go to WF next. I think I would mix it with almond. Just to make it last longer.

@Anagram: I purchase manitoba harvest hemp hearts, put filtered water with a serving in the blender, use a tea strainer (very fine mesh, one that is stainless steel sitting over a glass pot) and pour! I started making my own because the only options to purchase had a lot of additives.

It is really good! LO loves it. I make it every day (but you can make a bunch and store for probably 3 days in airtight container) and put it in her smoothies. After every meal I offer it in a zoli. She loves it!

It took some trial and error to figure out but it is actually super easy - the key for me was my tea strainer!

For those of you that did not do cow's milk (for whatever reason) and tried alternative milks--did you try hemp milk? What are your go-to brands? Is your brand carageenan free? And most importantly, does your LO like it?

When did you first introduce it to your child and when/how did you serve it?
