We have never had cable as long as DH and I have been together and haven't really missed it. Fortunately, football is either on local channels or fairly conducive to a sports-bar date! Baseball would be tough, depending on the teams your DH follows. You might want to check on MLB or ESPN's on-line streaming services. We got rid of cable and we are huge baseball fans (Red Sox &amp; Yankees). I root for an out of town team so I would have had to pay for some huge package with cable anyway. I get the MLB.tv service. It lets you watch every game from all teams except for the in-market team in your area. I think it's $125 for the season. You pay for the postseason separately.
