I had it with my first pregnancy. Yoga helped so much. You can get into that butt area and stretch that muscle.

I have sciatica off and on. I ended up getting written out of work early for it since I am a nurse and on my feet a lot which was so painful. I went to a chiropractor once and hated the whole experience but I know it has helped others. I have been lucky where if I have a bad day the next day I wake up and don't feel it.

I have awful sciatica! I see a chiro who specializes in ART-it's like absurd deep tissue manipulation and its been amazing for me. My insurance bills it as part chiro and part PT to give you an idea. You can find a provider on the ART website! Active release is something massage therapists do sometimes, too, but the sciatic nerve is very deep!

Started having sciatica just after 6 months. Soooo painful. I used a combo of acupuncture and chiro to find relief. Continued to see a chiro until about 10 weeks post-partum. Never thought I would go to a chiro but it was such a relief. Just make sure to go to someone with experience with pregnant women.

@BeachMama: my only hesitation with a PT is I had a very similar pain in my upper back and saw one for 3 months PP with my son. 2 chiro visits and it was fixed so I feel like the PT was worthless. I was going 2-3 times a week!

I thought I had sciatica but it ended up being sacroilial joint pain. Apparently it's commonly mistaken for sciatica. I went to physio and she gave me a bunch of exercises but I didn't keep them up so can't speak for whether or not it would've worked.

I was having irregular sharp pains in the top of my butt cheeks. Recently the left side started to have a more constsnt pulling feeling.

Now, it's a sharp stabbing pain all day everyday. Trying to walk kills me. Getting upstairs with my toddler is crippling. I have scoliosis. I had surgery for it in 9th grade but I have a mild curve still.

Is this sciatica? Can I see a chiro? A masseuse? Please say masseuse!!!
