I had serious hip and pelvis aches starting at like 16 wks with #1 and I'm here again with number two. Unfortunately my aches with LO #1 didn't go away until they gave me an epidural

I've had back pain for weeks now, and I've just started my second trimester. This despite being in the best shape of my life and continuing to work out. It just happens. Staying active really helps me.

had terrible pain in my hips and back starting around 16 weeks, like I couldn't bend forward and I was soo stiff I walked around really slow. It definitely freaked me out given my history but, here I am with a 7 week old. Yoga helped, as well as drinking lots of water. Hang in there mama! @simplyfelicity:

Have you tried some prenatal yoga? Many of the postures in class are specifically designed to open up our shoulders and hips which get so tight and achy with the extra weight/body changes. Plus I find it is a nice way to connect with baby because the teacher usually includes some narration about being mindful and focusing on your baby as you go through class :)

@Tidybee: This does help! Thanks! It's hard not to worry about everything but we just had an appointment with the OB and he was impressed by baby boy's heartbeat. Just need to remember that.

My guess is everything is starting to loosen and spread. A few tips that helped me immensely when pregnant with DD and had very similar feelings around 20 weeks.
1. Prenatal yoga. Even just a DVD to do some stretches to relieve some of the tension in your hips and on your sacrum.
2. When sleeping on your side, put your top leg in front of your front leg so that you're making sure your hips are stacked properly. When we're not pregnant they're stacked when our legs are on top of one another, but with weight and posture changes and the growing belly, it's not the case anymore.
I'll keep thinking......I hope these help!

For the past couple days, I have been experiencing a lot of aches and pains, especially when going from a sitting to standing position, sneezing or walking. The pain is deep in my hips and is also in my back. Its almost like a innertube going all the way around. My hips started spasming when I climbed into bed after being sore all night. I did walk a lot yesterday. I read something about your body creating relaxin which can cause aches and pains but I am not sure if that's what it is. Sometimes it almost feels like period cramps but deep in my hips. I am only 18 weeks so it seems strange to be this achey already. Is this normal? I haven't gone this far in a pregnancy before so this is uncharted territory for me. I am trying to not worry but I care about this guy so much already. Thank you in advance.
