I'm just starting to adapt to the korean skincare routine and ordered some stuff to fill in the gaps for products I don't have. I did some research and I ordered directly from a Korean brand's website, Innisfree. I ordered their green tea serum and some other stuff. Hopefully I'll remember to write a review post after I've used it for 1 month +!

I've done some reading up on skincare recently, and all the magazines are advocating a two pronged approach for managing skin care. You have to attract moisture to the skin, then you have to keep it in. Most of the recs out there call for a serum and a light moisturizer.

I get those white bumps as well, I have to back off on the moisturizer when that happens, especially under my eyes!

Right now I am using this the La Roche Posay Anthelios serum. It's great.

@SugarplumsMom: I use it mainly at night because that's when I have more time for rituals. But it's very light so you'd be able to use it daytime also. Interesting about your friend - it does seem to clear up a lot of slight marks and blemishes. I've heard pure vitamin E oil is excellent for scar reduction though - if you apply it every day, after 100 days they say scar appearance is visibly reduced and in some cases disappear! It's on my list to try.

Thanks for the link - will check it out!

@Nutella: A friend of mine was prescribed rosehip for her rosacea. I heard it works! Do you use it only at night or during the day as well?

As for the little white bumps, they're called milia. I actually started to get them on my cheek when I went crazy layering super moisturizing products. I've read that it's really common for women to get them with eye cream. They say it's a tell tale sign that the cream is too moisturizing for your skin.

@SugarplumsMom: oh what are those tiny bumps? I get them occasionally on my forehead & they weird me out! :silly:

As for serums, I'm sorry I can't help. I do use pure jojoba oil for cleansing and pure rosehip oil for moisturising and I find they are great. Not to mention much cheaper than the face creams I used to use. I switched as the creams were drying my skin.

Sorry if this is no help whatsoever!

@HLK208: I've seen a lot of vitamin C products out there. I like that it doesn't add extra oils as I'm already trying out new moisturizer and I'm not sure my skin can take any more extra moisture (I'm afraid to get those tiny bumps). What brand do you use?

I use vitamin C serum morning and night. I have dry/combination skin and it doesn't add any extra oils which I like. My skin just looks more even than it use to and dark spots are slowly fading.

Please share your serum secrets!

1. Do you use a serum in your skincare routine? Which one?
2. How often do you apply it?
3. Do you notice a difference after using it?
4. What's your skin type and would you recommend the serum?

Thanks!
