Um. My 8 month old has never STTN, aside from a few glorious nights as a newborn. She still wakes 2-5x per night. My 2.5 yr old never STTN once until 9 mos. So, I have never noticed any kind of regression at 8 months, as my kids hate sleep! :silly:

I was just wondering if there was a sleep regression around this time. LO is 7 months old and is waking up all.the.time. I'm going to lose my mind. We got past the 4 month sleep regression and then she was sleeping ok, now she's waking up every 20-40 minutes the first several hours, then sleeping a few hours, then waking up a bunch more. It's so exhausting. I think it may partially be teeth but it can end any time now.

It's definitely not as bad as the 4 month, at least in our case, so take heart! For about a week, our decent sleeper (who had the exact schedule as your little guy), woke up around 3 a.m. and just wanted to play. I read that they are starting the separation anxiety phase too, so they want to be with you...we would just feed him, rock for a little bit and put him in the crib with a few toys. He'd babble and crawl around for about 30 minutes and then pass out again.

Once we got past that stage (a week I think), he now sleeps 7-6 am on average and up for the day.

Consider yourself lucky he's only waking once! My 8 month old just started what I think is a regression. Only 2 nights in so I am preparing for the worst! Formerly waking up 1-2x per night to nurse (and has always gone back down easily) now waking up every 2-3 hours, sometimes trying to play, other times screaming inconsolably. Not sure if teething is playin a part too, but I hope so! I can't even bring her in the bed to sleep with us, it makes her want to play.

My formerly good sleeper has started waking up at around 3:30 about half the time. He used to sleep reliably from 8pm-5am, and when he would occasionally wake up he would usually soothe himself back to sleep a vast majority of the time.

He's only 7.5mo, but this all started a few weeks ago when he learned how to crawl and pull himself up to stand. I think he is just more alert and ready to play when he wakes up in the MOTN.

Last night I checked on him and then waited almost an hour before I brought him into bed and nursed/slept til our alarm went off. This is not sustainable! The bedrooms in our apartment are adjacent, so I can't sleep when he is screaming.

A few times when I brought him into bed, he nursed for a bit then woke up and started crawling around and trying to play. So, I would just chuck him into his crib.
