@bunnymommy: I try to get her to take a good nap (1-2 hours) around 3:30 or 4:30. When my DH gets home from work we take turns playing with her and walking around with her while we make dinner. We generally just keep her occupied. Sometimes she will fall asleep for 20 minutes or so while we are eating dinner but that doesn't seem to affect her bedtime.

thanks so much everyone for the replies! I'm so glad there are babies going to bed so late - LO will also usually only go to sleep around 10 or 11 pm, ugh.

@MrsStormy: @coopsmama: I mean, she 'naps' about 4 times a day but only for 20-45mins - when I say one or two naps a day I'm talking about 1-3 hours really. do you think that's enough sleep?

@MamaPhoenix: our day kind of looks like this - glad to see a similar 'routine'!

@Cara M. 17: how do you stop her from napping too close to bedtime?

thanks so much for the support lovely mamas. so helpful to hear about the scheduled and the not.

LO is 14 weeks old, and we follow EASY. He stays awake for 90 minutes at a time during the day and takes about 4 naps a day (usually between 30 - 60 minutes). He goes to bed around 7pm and has around three middle of the night feedings. He is up for the morning around 8 - 9.

LO is 3 mo and we have no schedule. Naps are really sporadic and can be anywhere from 20 min to 4 hrs. The only thing that is somewhat consistent is she eats every 2.5-3 hrs during the day and she usually goes to bed sometime between 9:30 and 11pm.

At 3 months the only thing that DS had started doing regularly was knowing the difference between night and day. He was up a lot more during the day and sleeping at night. But naps and feedings were still totally sporadic, no matter how hard we tried to establish a routine.

No routine here at four month. She naps after being awake 1.5-2 hours (watch for sleepy cues). She usually eats after her nap but that varies somewhat depending on how long she naps and some days she wants to eat more frequently than others.

I do try for last nap to start around 4. Bedtime routine starts between 6:30 and 7 (depending in when she woke up from last nap and crankiness/sleepy cues). She's usually asleep btw 7:15-7:45.

LO#2 is 4 months now, and LO#1 is 20 months....

LO#2's schedule is loosely:

8am: wake up and feed
10am: nap
11am: wake up and feed
1pm: nap
2:30 pm: wake up and feed
4:30pm: nap
6:00pm: wake up and feed
8:00pm: another feed then bedtime
4:30am: night feed
8am: morning again!

since this is LO#2, it's a bit flexible depending on if we are out and about during the day and stuff like that, but generally it is more or less like that!

3mths was when I would say we started getting a somewhat routine together. We did E.A.S.Y. every 3hrs, so she woke up from a nap, ate, had 1.5hrs awake time, then napped for the other 1.5hrs. She took 3 naps per day and went to bed around 7pm.

My little girl is 16 weeks today and she has to set schedule. She is EBF as well. Bed is usually 11pm. She sleeps until 4:30 when wakes up to eat. Then back to sleep until 8:30am. She eats again and most times will go back to sleep until 10:30. She up till anytime from noon to 2pm and then has her first nap. Second nap is always different in the evening, sometimes 6pm sometimes 7pm. Then Bed at 11pm.

Our schedule is very similar to @Rubies except she wakes up between 8 & 9 and we start our bedtime routine at 7:30, with her usually being in bed asleep by 9. We are struggling with naps right now but I shoot for 3 a day, try to make then at least 1 hr, and put her down 1.5 hrs from when she last woke up, as that's when she gets overtired. Basically, we do "EASY" and it has worked great for us. LO has never been able to just drift off when she's tired - I have to actively put her down or she'll just be up & cranky - so a "baby led" schedule would not work for us at all.

@Smurfette: my thoughts exactly.

Do what works for you and LO. Some babies are more scheduled by that point and some are not. I will say that at that point 3 naps is probably more normal for most babies but otherwise -- go with your gut. I hate that the health visitor said that haha.

At 3 months the only schedule we had was a solid bedtime routine that started around the same time each night. The rest of the day she went about an hour-hour and a half between naps, but the timing was always different depending on when she woke up for the day and how long each nap was. I nursed on demand every 2-2 1/2 hours.

Uh oh..... My first had a routine but my second does not. Just depends on what activities are planned.

Nurse after waking up. Then usually library or music class. I'll nurse again there and if she's cranky I get her to nap, if not she stays awake. If she didn't nap she'll nap through lunch, and then during #1s nap time. I nurse every 2-3 hours. She still wakes up every 2 1/2 hours at night.

DD is 12 weeks and we don't really have a schedule. She eats every 2-3 hours (ebf) and we follow her sleepy cues for naps. She is generally up for 1.5-2.5 hours at a time. We try not to let her nap past 6 pm since we start her bedtime routine at 8-8:30.

Her morning nap is generally longest (2-3 hours) and the others are 45 minutes to an hour.

We are at 4.5 months old and still no real schedule. I do think she might need more than one or two naps a day, but my daughter is a terrible napper so unfortunately we take like 5 cat naps, so don't take my word for that!

Haha. That's funny. We were nowhere near a schedule at that point (and still don't have one, at 7 months!). If a schedule works for you and baby, then by all means you can try something like the EASY method, but really, don't stress too much about it at 3 months!

I suppose you could call what we did a "baby led schedule" but in reality that isn't a schedule as we adults know it. We just followed her cues, and roughly followed EASY (Eat, Activity, Sleep, YourTime). Although she only naps for 20 minutes so there isn't much "your time" lol.

We had a visit with a health visitor today and she told us we should have more of a schedule at this point (14 weeks). What was/is your schedule with your 3 month old?

We're EBF on demand (probably every 2.5 - 3 hours) and she naps once or twice in the day depending on what we're doing. She gets about 7 straight hours at night, wakes up to eat and then will usually go down for 3 more hours... was/is your day more regular and routine?
