I’m in California so not sure about Florida next week but when it’s in the low 60s here (aka always!), I wear jeans, t-shirt and light cardigan. But DH will wear shorts for sure. If I’m walking/hiking then I lose the cardigan. LO wears long sleeves and pants and maybe a sweatshirt/fleece depending on wind/sun. If it’s sunny, 60s will feel warm to you coming from NY!

In terms of “what to wear”, the weather was in the low 60s here yesterday and I wore jeggings, a short sleeved blouse, and a lighter 3/4 sleeve cardigan with a pretty loose weave. I definitely needed the cardigan outdoors with the wind blowing! But also if you’re coming from freezing weather maybe that would feel warm to you?

I live in the tropics and it’s 90 or more just about every day. Our condo has an unheated pool and the water often feels cold, but it only gets a few hours of direct sunlight each day. I lap swim though, so it doesn’t bother me. I think an unheated pool in less than 70 degree weather would probably be very brisk, and probably too cold for kiddos.

we went to Tampa /Clearwater last year the third week of February and happened to get 80s but the news kept saying it was unusual and record high. The pools were very cold. You would want a hotel that has a heated pool for sure.

A little south of Tampa here. I think it depends for the pool, like is it located on the water? The wind coming in off the water can make it way too cold to swim no matter how warm they heat the pool. ( just happened to us) But the forecast currently that they have out for that time frame ( it will change but not drastically) looks like you will still need a jacket for the colder mornings and nights. If you are out in the sun it really does make a big difference. My kids in this current weather of highs in the 60s wear leggings and long sleeve cotton shirts. If the sun is going to be out all day they usually still wear shorts and t-shirts. The thickest jackets we have are just an old navy fleece but that is usually just for the coldest mornings when we are in the 30-40s. DS has a "track jacket" that we use the most and DD has a couple larger comfy sweaters that she uses.

Yeah, I'm further south than Tampa, but winter weather here is very unpredictable. It may be 45 or it may be 85. You'll have to check closer to when you go. That's still too far out to say what the weather will be. The forecast changes a lot even a few days out. It will still feel pretty warm to you! I would pack light layers. Definitely need long pants and a jacket/sweater in the early morning and evenings. 60s and sunny during the day feels pretty good.

It's not pool weather for me, but if it's sunny, not windy, and you're in a heated pool, it might be okay for you.

I’m in the NE area too. 9 degrees most of week 😡. I think you will be fine. We go to FL a lot and the pools are heated. I’ve called our hotel and verified if the pool is heated. also the clothes you listed sounds perfect! have a wonderful time!

Hi all, we are going to Clearwater with both kids in a couple of weeks 2/7-2/10). So we’re dumb and being in the NE we just assumed all of Florida is hot right now 😂 but looking at weather.com it says high 50-low 60s. Which isn’t pool weather. How accurate is this?
Any chance it’s near the 70s and still somewhat doable for pool? I was reading that the Florida hotels keep the pools very warm so we could still swim but I wonder how likely this is.

Also, I’m blanking on what to wear in that weather. It was 5 degrees here this week so I’m having trouble imagining anything else. I’m assuming I can skip packing the shorts. So like jeans and light sweater/cardigans/jackets?
I think it’s 57 here today but it’s pouring and I’m with the baby so I’m not going to test it out.
