My husband would snake the line and it was awful.</p> <p>Our house is about 60 years old and we definitely have tiny roots growing in the sewer line in the front yard which doesnt help matters.</p> <p>We've had no problems since I stopped flushing. I keep a roll of papertowels in the bathroom and wrap in one of those before throwing in the trash.</p> <p>In public with super flushing toilets.....i totally flush. Tampons expand pretty large, and they don't dissolve, so they end up blocking pipes. We have a very new house.</p> <p>There actually was an incredibly long Thread about this like 2 years ago, where half of hellobee was horrified that people were flushing tampons and the other half of hellobee was shocked that people throw them in the trash.</p> <p>To answer the original question, I usually place it in the unwrapped, plastic sleeve of the next tampon that I'm about to use, and then wrap it in toilet paper. I flush them down my toilet and any other toilet. Wrapping them in tp just seemed wasteful to me. I just recently found out you’re not supposed to flush tampons. I had no idea, oops. But now I’m wondering...what do I do? I have very heavy periods so a used tampon is pretty...messy. There’s no feasible way to wrap it in tp because it would soak right through but I can’t just toss it right in the trash. I don’t know where else to ask this haha. </p>
