We stroll around with our infant carseat &amp; Snap n Go frame. When we hail a cab, the Snap n Go goes into the taxi's trunk; it's very light. I've also done this by myself with a heavy stroller frame (bugaboo), and its not that bad either, but of course, the lighter the stroller, the better. Infant carseat is placed in the middle backseat secured with seatbelt. Even if cabs are not required to have carseats, this is the safest option IMO.</p> <p>If your baby has outgrown an infant carseat, there is something called Sit N Stroll. It's a portable carseat on wheels. It's only meant for strolling short distances though and has no storage basket, but as a portable carseat, it's great. It's a bit pricey for one-time use, but if you travel alot, might be worth it. In my local moms group this is something moms borrow/rent from each other for travel all the time... You could also try getting one on craigslist.</p> <p>Car service with carseat is another option, but can get pricey and perhaps annoying if your car trips are just frequent and quick rides around the city. We use Legends Limo to/from the airport.
