@MamaMoose: The note tried to say "Now, these are just suggestions, feel free to do whatever you feel comfortable with" But I'm just going to follow the list since that is easier for me. :)

@irene: Oh, no, not everyone in the whole place. She goes to a center that has the infant room divided in half, with 6 babies and 2 teachers on each side. However, there are morning and afternoon teachers and sometimes she switches sides (depending on the number of teachers/babies that are there on a given day)... so I am not entirely sure of how many teachers work with her on a regular basis. I know that at least 4 teachers are signing off on feedings, changes, etc. in the course of a week. I don't know if there are main teachers or what... I need to look into that!

I think I'm going to give each of her teachers a cupcake (one of those big fancy ones) and a Starbucks gift card. I would be super annoyed if I was instructed to give a gift every day, and what gift to give at that! I noticed on her calendar from school that they pointed out it was teacher appreciation week... but I didn't look too closely. I guess I better double check when I get home and make sure there weren't instructions!!

I haven't decided what to do yet. Last year we gave potted succulents, and I think the teachers enjoyed them. I think a few of them became classroom plants, since I still see them in my LOs classrooms, which I love. I try to keep the appreciation gifts low key since I feel like I'm giving gifts all year round, for Christmas, moving up a class, etc.

Our daycare is hosting Mexican themed lunch for the teachers on Monday so I signed up to bring food and help serve lunch.

They also gave us cute cardstock cut into hearts, flowers, etc. for the kids to decorate for each of their teachers.

I am also writing thank you cards and giving E's two main teachers Starbucks gift cards.

I had no idea it was teacher appreciation week either! We didn't get any kind of a list (which I think it kind of weird in the first place). Thanks for the heads up. Since DH does pick up and drop off I haven't had much interaction with them. Homebaked cookies are a good idea.

Oh I'm glad I saw this, I had no idea this was next week lol. LO just started this week but I would have felt like a douche if I didn't do anything.

I think maybe I will make a cute note with a picture for his two teachers and the teacher in the older infant room, who takes him in the morning before his teachers get there. And some gift cards... Maybe $10 each to Target? Oh I like the idea of cookies too... I might bake them but make them from a refrigerated roll lol. Still "home baked"... ;)

Glad I saw this thread!!

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Hmm... okay, I appreciate the input! The thing is I don't even know how many teachers she has... I would say 4 or 5, at least... she's only be going there for 2 months, so I don't know everyone that well yet. There is a morning and and afternoon shift... she is going to miss 2 days next week, so I thought I would try to find out how many teachers there actually are and then give them bags with $5-10 Starbucks or Target gift cards, homemade cookies, and some kind of footprint card/poem from my LO... sound okay?

When I was a daycare teacher, it was always so nice to get gift cards to Starbucks, Target, or a teacher supply store, because I would have to pay out of pocket for a good part of supplies for the fun activities I wanted to do. I didn't usually use hand creams or lotions much. And a handwritten note of appreciation was ALWAYS loved. Pictures of the kids too! I still have pictures of some of my kids from when I worked there.

Teacher appreciation week is next week. Are you doing something for your child's daycare teachers? If so, what are you doing?

We've only been at our center for 3 weeks (it will be 4 weeks next week) but I feel really comfortable with them, and have spent a lot of time with them over my lunch breaks. There are 5 providers who are regularly in the room. I am kind of stumped at what to do besides a nice note. Hand cream or hand soap? a Dunkin donuts giftcard?

Any ideas?
