I think simple office supplies is probably the best bet (highlighter, the white out that you roll onto the page, etc) or extra school supplies is the way to go. </p> <p>I think something very small that your daughter helped choose/wrap is a sweet gesture for the first day. For our Kinder kiddo, the teacher had a wishlist and we bought from it. She asked for fun bandaids, googly eyes and different printer labels. We supplied her with bandaids. Highlighters? Gel pens? Antibacterial gel? Lotion? An actual apple? Chapstick? I tend to stay away from scented stuff.. </p> <p>Planning to gift something small (think something that would fit a plain clear goody bag) to the teacher and office staff for DD's first day. She likes to wrap and give out gifts so I think this may help that transition and get her to talk to the new teacher/staff? </p> <p>Good idea, or bad?? Too distracting? I know first days are kind of crazy. FWIW, it's mostly the first day for my DD, because the school is open year-round and almost all the kids have been there for a while as they stayed for their summer program. </p> <p>Thanks! </p>
