What about taping a sheet to each bin with pictures of what goes in each?

I think just repitition. DD1 almost 4, knows that garbage goes in the front bin and recycling such as paper goes in the other one.

E loves the recycling song from Peppa Pig. It specifies tin cans, bottles and newspapers and, at the moment, I'm just working on those three.

My 7 yr old is good at this but my 5 yr old still isn't sure - most things have a recycling symbol on the bottom so I have been having her look there first

We have two containers in the kitchen, one is trash and one is for recycling. I'm trying to figure out an easy way to teach the girls what goes where. If I say, 'this one goes in recycling' they know which bin it is, but sometimes I find food in there or boxes in the trash. Is there an easy way to teach this to younger kids?
