@xInfinity: That is totally a problem that I could see happening if we change the spelling. Pretty sure we will use the normal Ryan spelling for either.

@erinpye: I really like Ryan better for a girl than a boy...so glad I finally got DH to agree to use it for a girl (if this baby is even a girl).

@autumnlove: @NeekieRose: My daughter's middle name is Ryan but we spelled it Ryann. Only problem (that never occurred to me before she was born) is that some people see it and think it's pronounced Ry-Ann :meh:

I was on team green for my son but went in with set names for both a girl and a boy. The girl name was one I was set in stone on for a few years before kids so when we had our daughter next that became her name. We did find out the sex with our daughter (we were moving and I didnt want to unpack all my sons baby boy stuff if I didnt have to) but with our next and last I want to be team green again since we already have one of each and I like the surprise but we will have set gender names chosen,

Team green, and the names we happen to like are gender specific. So, probably not!

We were team green and planned to use the middle name James either way. We also considered it as a first name for a girl (we had a boy).

Sweetie and I are Team Green, and we also very specifically want a gender neutral name. Agreeing even a little bit is not exactly happening so far though.

@loki: Yup, this is baby Ryan regardless! Pretty sure we have a middle name for a boy but no idea for a girl. I want something simple, short, and super girly. We decided to just wait until after the anatomy scan to think any more about it, since a girl middle name might not be necessary!

No, because we prefer gender specific names. We both liked Taylor and Jordan, for either sex, but wanted to go with a name that would be obviously one or the other. We were team green.

Our middle name will 95% likely be Michael either way. Because of that I think the first name needs to be gender specific (at least in the situation we have another girl since Michael is strongly identified as male.)

I really like the name Kellen for boy or girl, but DH is only sold on it for a boy not a girl (I wouldn't be able to use middle name though with the girl, too masculine)

Did you plan on using the same gender/sex neutral name for a boy/girl?

I think one of my friends will use Ryan no matter what! :) She isn't sure if she will modify the spelling for a girl.
