So, he peeked during the ultrasound and saw. He kept it a secret from me (and everyone else) and announced it at birth. </p> <p>It was infuriating, and I thought he slipped (he'd use pronouns interchangeably, but when we only discussed girl names seriously, I was convinced we were having a girl). Not even TTC yet and we've already started talking about names. I'll also have gender neutral stuff in newborn and 0-3 months, I'm sure if we have a boy my mom will be happy to go shopping for clothes for him when he's here. It was a great experience for me to find out "who" my baby was when he was born and I got to actually meet him. There were a couple times during ultrasounds when I kind of wanted to know, but not enough to actually find out. There's just not much that's a surprise anymore, with pregnancy and babies. </p> <p>And I think it's more practical, too, because if you, say, find out you're having a girl the first time around, all people will give you is pink and frills. Then if you have a boy after that, you can't (or at least I wouldn't want to) reuse any of that stuff. I always knew I'd be so upset if I had a little girl and didn't get to have tons of pink and ruffles. And we had a little girl, so her nursery and clothes are full of pink and ruffles :)</p> <p>DH on the other hand wanted to be team green, but let me have my way. So I told him next time we can have it his way. I had my fill of pink, and if we have another girl we already have the pink stuff that can get handed down. When we were TTC and first got pregnant I was gung-ho about it, and got DH, who originally wanted to know, to go along with me. Then when it started getting close to when we could find out I changed my mind and decided I really did want to find out, but by then DH was SO excited to not know, and to be able to announce the sex to me in the delivery room that I went along with it.
