We found out at the 19w ultrasound. Honestly, I feel like it's a surprise no matter when you find out. I think finding out also made everything more real. I know that we had made the right choice whenever DH looks at me with such excitement that we're having a boy. He absolutely would be just as excited if it were a girl but knowing has made him much more excited and involved.

We did both... found out for #1, Team Green for #2!

Finding out was really special with #1... It was also very awesome to find out at birth for #2. So glad I waited, but it was very hard at times! My hubby did know though for #2, so at least one of us could prepare (e.g. if it was a boy, he was in charge of ordering a new carseat in a boy pattern to be sent to his office so baby boy wouldn't have to go home in DD1's pink carseat, haha). It worked out very well though. Best surprise ever that we had another girl again!

We were Team Green and I absolutely loved it! I'm a super anal type A planner, but I think because of that, I wanted to enjoy the one true surprise left in life. It was so much fun discussing our dreams and plans for the baby not knowing if it was going to be a boy or a girl. We loved the anticipation and excitement of not knowing whether we had a son or a daughter on the way but knowing we were going to be thrilled and excited to find out once LO arrived.

Personally, I don't like when people find out the gender, I just find it so anticlimactic. My brother found out with his baby and it was just like 'oh ok, that's nice', I just felt it really took away a lot of the excitement. As far as nurseries, I love gender neutral and think there are some really cute ideas out there. We did Peter Rabbit and it would have been great for either gender.

It's all just personal preference but I will continue to be Team Green for all future pregnancies.

We were Team Green! I loved it. But! I love when others find out. Haha I don't know why I was so patient with our baby, but I can't wait to hear about others' babies. The moment that my husband announced, "It's a boy! We have a son!" was just indescribable. We will be waiting to find out for all pregnancies.

I love the idea of team green, but my husband doesn't, and in reality...I don't know that I could do it. That said, we also like surprising other people, and neither of us is into the over-the-top gendered stuff, so we're planning to find out (but my scan isn't until 20 weeks...a long 5 weeks away!), but then keep it a secret from the rest of the world. We'll see how that goes :)

@Artbee; I see. We had gender neutral clothes from our shower but have found it hard to find in bigger than 0-3m sizes. However, I have only bought clothing at consignment stores, goodwill, yard sales so if this is a boy I'll just sell them back and re-buy for a boy.

@purrpletulips: with big things we bought gender neutral things so we won't have to spend too much if we have a boy next. I didn't want to have to buy another stroller, high chair, etc. As for clothes, most of her clothes are gifted or hand me downs so I don't have a choice but when I do buy I buy gender neutral so I'll have some stuff if we have a boy next. We do have lots of pink, but we also have a good start if the next is a boy.

@MamaMoose: I've had a ton of ultrasounds recently and when the tech asks if we know the sex, they get excited and make a big deal about us not finding out so late in the game. They pretty much don't even give the option, so you'll be fine! And I totally agree with you about the hardest thing is picking names.
@Tidybee: There are so few gender neutral clothing options! We got several of the same outfits as gifts because of it. I figure it doesn't matter in the beginning anyway since you spend most of the time at home. We did go to a consignment shop which surprisingly had more options than any of the stores and an added bonus, onsies were like 40 cents.

With DS I found out and do not regret that although I did go overboard with buying clothes. With LO #2 we have remained Team Green with only 7 weeks to go! I won't lie it is KILLING me at this point but I do not regret being Team Green. I am at the point though that I want to know now. If we decide to have a third I'm going to do my best to convince DH to be team find out.

We're Team green! Only 9 more weeks to go! While it's tough not knowing whether it's my son or daughter in there, it has been fun and added a little extra element of excitement to it. Whenever I tell people we don't know, they say - oh that's the best! I've had a few hormonal moments...like in BRU surrounded by tons of cute girl and boy stuff and then 1 ugly option for unisex, but it passes. Plus, it's kept me from going overboard and spending tons of money on clothes...I've been more focused on the stuff that I'll need regardless of the gender.

Team Green!! Everyone I know was SHOCKED that I didn't want to find out because I'm a total type A planner. But I think when it comes to having a baby you need to learn you can't ever be totally prepared anyway so why not be surprised! So far the only thing that has made me want to find out the gender is that it sure would be nice to only have to find a name for one gender instead of both (and I'm not a fan of gender neutral names so that doesn't work). I had some pre term contractions recently so I'll now be monitored much more closely with more frequent ultrasounds and I know it will be tough to not find out each and every time, but I know I won't regret that decision when my hubs announces the gender to me in the delivery room!

Team green and I love it. The sex of the baby honestly makes no difference to me; the baby is first and foremost our child, with their own personality and place in the world. It's exciting to wait and see what they're like. Getting no ultrasounds means we even daydream about their face.

As an added bonus: no horribly gendered clothing or expectations for baby until they're born! :P

We found out with our 2 DDs. With this one I didn't want to know, but DH did. We went to the ultrasound and baby agreed with me to keep it a suprise until they make their debut. The best guess the tech made was another girl because she never saw boy parts during the US, but was very honest that she never got a good shot at all.

@purrpletulips: Yes, exactly!

BTW - I hope I didn't offend anyone with my original post. I do not mean that anyone that wants to find out the sex is obnoxious. I only mean that people that think they need to plan for MY baby and complain to DH and me because we don't know the sex. I've had people ask to come to an ultrasound to find out or accuse me of knowing but keeping it a secret!
