Yep! I had a csection after 15hrs of labor and I was SOO excited, I FINALLY got to find out if it was a boy or girl.LOL Team Green was my SO's idea, but I liked it once we got in. It was fun to just anticipate the baby. My SO didn't tell me, my doctor did, but that's fine. We both were just so happy. I was stunned she was a girl, I was thinking boy.LOL

@sloaneandpuffy: That's what happened with our first, too! We told the doctor and nurses that we didn't know the baby's sex, but they forgot to announce it in all of the excitement of the birth.

With DS, I reminded the nurses and doctor m ultiple times throughout my labor and like three times during pushing. I really wanted DH to announce it to me, so I didn't want them to forget! :)

We are team green again for number two, so we thought it was worth it. Although this time I am definitely going to emphasize the announcement with my doctor because last time no one said anything! They're just not used to team green these days I guess! Anyway, we were pretty certain we'd have a boy the first time and we were right, but this time we're not sure. For me the moment of birth of course is wonderful, but the fun of being team green is more the constant wondering and guessing throughout the pregnancy!

Totally. Even though you know the outcome is either boy or girl, it's still one of the best feelings when your partner announces the gender to you!

Yes! So worth it for us. Hearing my husband say, "We have a son!" right after all that hard work was one of the best moments of my life. As @NYCaliMama said, it was indescribable.

It is def worth the wait! We just had our LO on Thursday and that moment the doctor said it was a girl was such an amazing feeling! We would have been happy either way but finding out the gender and that she was healthy immediately made it all worth it!

We've pretty much decided that we will be Team Green for our next pregnancy. We lost our first one at 20 wks when we went in for the anatomy scan. For whatever reason, I want to do things somewhat differently the next we get pregnant. If it turns out we are having twins or something, then we might find out, but we don't care if it's boy or girl. We just want a baby with a heartbeat that we can hold in our arms.

Many times I thought I couldn't wait any longer to find out, but I kept saying to myself, "well, I've lasted this long, I might as well keep waiting." and I'm very glad I did. The moment I found out right after birth was indescribable. No other surprise can top it.

@mamamoose: I think for me a lot of my wavering has to do with my LOs having to share a room and I feel it will be somewhat easier long term if they are the same gender; however, I know that DH really would like a boy.

For fun I looked up the Chinese gender prediction charts and last time using my age it said I was having a boy but if I used DH's age (not what the instructions say to do) it said girl. This time regardless of whether I use mine or DH's age it says boy which has me really curious, but not enough to find out ahead of time.

@purrpletulips: I waver too! At the beginning when I was constantly sick I was sooooo sure it was a girl! But lately I've been feeling more like it's a boy.

We were/are team green with both pregnancies. It was so worth it when my doctor announced "indoor plumbing, it's a girl" that I can't wait to find out this time around. Neither my husband nor I would make guesses out loud as the to gender the first time around and after everything had settled down and we were snuggling our daughter both said "hmm, I thought we were going to have a boy"; apparently most people thought we were going to have a boy but most of them didn't say anything until we announced we had a girl.
This time we are more vocal about our predictions however I waiver back and forth on pretty much a daily basis on whether I think it is a girl or boy.

I was really happy we waited. It was so exciting not only getting to meet him or her, but also finding out if its a him or her. I also feel like there are less preconceived thoughts/ideas about the baby since you build the relationship as a son or daughter with the capability to know/see/feel the child.

We are currently Team Green and I have many moments of wondering "will this be worth it in the end?!" I am excited for that moment after the baby is born and learning who he or she actually is, but also have many moments where I wonder if I could get that same level of anticipated excitedment from finding out now... we're waiting , though!

I was so exhausted from my difficult labor (and already so convinced he was a boy) that I didn't even pay attention. But the moment was magical for Wagon Sr., and we were team green by his request to be able to have that experience, so I'm really glad we did it!

I've been Team Green twice now, and YES! It is totally worth the wait!

With my daughter, the doctor actually forgot to announce her sex right after birth. :) I had to ask "What is the baby?" and the nurses called back that she was girl. I just looked at my husband and said, "We have a daughter," and we both started crying. It was such an intense moment, realizing that we had a daughter and that we were really parents.

With my son, just before he crowned I told my husband, "I don't think I can do this." Then, with the next push he was out, and my husband told me, "It's a boy!" We both immediately started crying and told everyone in the room our son's name. It was just a very intense, joyful, private moment where we realized we had a son and that our family was now changed forever. :)

So we're planning on going green. My worry is that the "surprise" will be anti-climatic. I mean, you know it's pretty much one or the other.

Not asking if you were disappointed in the baby's gender, but was the moment of finding out the sex what you were hoping for?
