We did a gender reveal with immediate family, and it was so much fun! I'm hoping to do the same again next time. :)

Dont find out, just make some crafty things for either gender and sell the ones you don't use! There was nothing better than hearing the sex just after he was born (DH saw it first and shouted it out).

A friend did a gender reveal party with her family, and the pictures are amazing! I thought about doing one after see her photos. The best part was everyone dressed up wearing either pink or blue. They were able to get everyone's reaction to the cake cutting and the photos are priceless!

If you haven't ever been team green then I say go team green, atleast once!

I found out with DS and this last time we chose to be team green. Next time we'll probably do a gender reveal BUT we are so glad that we did get that 'moment' where it was a total surprise and DH got to tell me what it... she, was. DS did fine not finding out & was so excited to meet his baby sister. I think team green should be done atleast once by everyone!

@mrstiz: Yep, we have twins! It's kind of funny because this is baby #5, but only pregnancy #3. My oldest is actually my step daughter, but she lives with us full time and always has, so I count her. Then you throw twins in the mix and babies add up pretty quickly! HAHA :)

Okay I'm going to have to talk to DH tonight and see what he wants to do for sure. Luckily we have a few more weeks to decide! I am leaning towards a gender reveal with the kiddos, but that could change tomorrow (I'm a horrible decision maker)! My other kids are 13, 7, 4 & 4, so they are old enough to understand what's going on and be more involved and its been so fun!

I think the gender reveal with your DH and kids sounds fun! Maybe even have them wear pink if they think it's a girl and blue if they think it's a boy. I think they will appreciate being included and it will make it more exciting for them!

@Mrstiz: I might not have explained that very well, but if we do a gender reveal thing, it wont be my whole big family just me, DH, and our kids. It was more an attempt to make our kids feel a part of it and keep them excited about the baby.

Personally, I would just find out. Gender is one of those things that parents get excited about, buttt not your cousin and her BF. (in my family, at least). I could never go the whole pregnancy without knowing, but i've heard it's a beautiful thing if you can wait!

Sooo, for you I would either wait or just straight up find out.

I am team green and am super excited for the big announcement at birth. However, with the 4 other kids, I wonder if it would help them feel more involved and connected with the baby to know if they are having a brother or sister? Or is the guessing more fun? If you do decide, I think you should all find out together like a reveal, rather than you and SO finding out and going home and telling them.

I'm one of 5 kids and my mom never found out the gender (don't know if it was even an option then) and I was always super excited about the next baby, if that helps. Though, I was 3 and 5 when my younger sisters were born.

Another option to do with the rest of the kids to involve them, is to have the u/s tech write the gender on a piece of paper. Take it to a store where you can get balloons, and take a big box. Have them fill it with pink or blue balloons, then tape the box shut. You guys can open it all together (or let the kids do it, since they would think itll be fun. Everyone loves balloons!) and then have someone photograph you all when you see them float out. I love that. Totally want to do that with my next one!

Hmm this is a tough one! We were team green, but the tech ended up slipping up and revealed the gender at 25 weeks. We then ended up revealing the gender at our shower by releasing pink balloons. We were bummed we found out because like you said, we wanted that "It's a...." moment, but we made the best of it and I loved being able to plan for a specific gender. Long story short, I am not help because both ways are great!

I am *almost* 16 weeks pregnant and up until now we have been adamant about not finding out the gender of our baby. However, the closer I get to that ultrasound the harder it is becoming and for so many reasons!! With my other two pregnancies I found out the genders this week! I am a crafty person and there are so many things I want to make for the baby, but its really hard to do neutral. For instance, if its a girl I want to make a bunch of hair bows and headbands and all kinds of things that can't be for a boy. For a boy I want to make some cute little hats and such. I just know that I wont have the time I need after the baby to make this stuff!! At the same time though I think that "It's a -----" moment would be amazing and I really did want to experience that! Ahh, I just can't make up my mind and DH is for not finding out, but he would be fine with whatever I want to do!

I saw on pinterest where the ultrasound tech writes the gender on a piece of paper and you have the inside of a cake baked blue or pink. I think that would be really fun to do with just our family. We have 4 kids already so I am trying to keep them as involved as possible in this pregnancy.

ETA: The gender reveal would be done with just DH, the kids, and I. No big party, just a fun family thing! :)
