I inspect my mouth every night (weird, I know) when I floss and I could tap the tooth with my nail and feel pain. They've always been good and I've never had a cavity in my nearly 34 years of age, so I'm glad pregnancy didn't ruin it. I do need to floss more as there was a bit of calcification (aka plaque) but no big deal.</p> <p>My dentist has an interesting theory - people tend to either have good teeth or good gums,and she thinks that the people with good teeth have more minerals in their saliva, which are great for the teeth, but leave one more prone to plaque build up and subsequently gingivitis. I have my first dental appointment pp (um yes a year after being pregnant, gross!) in a few days and I'm worried about cavities.</p> <p>6 weeks after I had my first, I knew I had a cavity and got in quickly.
