@Raindrop: that's funny! Kind of like how I found out I snore

@Mama Bird: yeah I guess there's nothing we can do. I think it has to do with sleep phases, like maybe he's having an intense dream or something...? I hope he grows out of it!

Ugh, DS does it in his sleep. It does sound awful, but I can't think of anything to do seeing as he is asleep.

I grind my teeth :bummed: My oldest grinds his teeth too.

Luckily I have no teeth issues... Never even needed braces or had cavities as an adult or any other dental work so far. I only grind my teeth when I am stressed out which is about a few times a month.

It seems my oldest only grinds once in awhile not sure what he would be stressed out about at 4... Haha. Hopefully he will grow out of it... Sadly I have never.

Edit: I should note LO and I both grind in our sleep and don't know we grind. DH tells me when I grind my teeth which is the reason I know somewhat how often I do it. Funny story I never knew I grinded my teeth till college when my roommate told me after 2 years of living together in the same room. When I asked my parents they said we thought you knew! My brother was there when I asked and he said you seemed like a demon took over your body and you are so loud how could you not know!! That is when I found out I am deep sleeper too! Haha.

@MoonMoon: Oh man, I do that when I'm asleep and there's nothing you can do! Well, there are mouth guards, but obviously not for the littles. DS was just doing it while awake.

@Boogs: that's what I'm afraid of, I'm sorry it happened to your son! I don't know how to redirect him while he's sleeping. Should I poke him? Haha.

Our LO did this for a long time and did chip a tooth. :/ He has thankfully finally stopped, but his ped and dentist both said there's not much to do other than redirect. Luckily the chip is just surface and didn't cause any other damage.

Our Dr has assured us that it's normal and there's nothing we can do about it, but oh my goodness LO grinds his teeth every night, and it is so loud and awful sounding! I'm genuinely scared he'll chip or break his teeth. Any ideas what causes this or any tips for stopping it? It doesn't seem to be going away by itself.
