Sadie doesn't get diarrhea exactly, but while she's teething her poop is much looser. She's been cutting her 2-year molars for a while now, and I haven't changed a solid poop for at least a month. She is SO slobbery... it has to be the reason.

Actually, I know a lot of children who get diarrhea when they have an ear infection. Similarly, a lot of children get ear infections when they are teething. Chain reaction

My FIL, who is a dentist, said that yes it can cause diarrhea but the doctors prefer to tell you it can't so you don't chalk all diarrhea up to teething when it can be potentially very serious in LOs. That's his POV.

Thanks! I think it is teething related too. Going to the ped just in case but if she says "oh it's just a cold/virus, you just have to ride it out" i'll wait a little longer before going in if it happens with the next teeth.

My LO's always had very bad diaper rashes when teething. The acid in saliva can cause a lot of issues, and when teething the body increases in salivary production.

It wasn't a weird color, but L almost always gets diarrhea when he's teething. I'd say it has happened way too many times to be a coincidence.

Beware, gross poop talk...

DS is cutting his top two teeth and simultaneously has bright green, super watery poo. This also happened when he got his two bottom teeth. However last time around he came down with the flu and an ear infection a few days later.

So I'm wondering if the diarrhea is related to the teething, if he just has a cold, or if this is the beginning of some other illness. He also is drooling like a faucet and has a runny nose.

I've heard people say that teething can cause diarrhea but I've also read (in baby 411) that it is just an old wives tale.

FWIW, I'm taking LO to the ped today just in case. I guess I'll hit my 2015 insurance deductible in no time...
