I just looked up the nose frida. I'd never heard of it! I'm ordering it today, if it works it's genius! I try to use the aspirator and the baby acts like I'm putting a knife up her nostril, my poor baby :(

Elevate the head of the bed to help with the congestion. We used ibruprofin mostly. We also have this vibrating teething star thing that he loves. Also, for congestion I used the saline spray before bed every night. Those were the only things that helped.

So I have looked all over for the Nose Frida and no one carries it here in Seattle! I finally ordered it from Amazon and it'll be here on Thursday but seriously! Target doesn't even have them.

I'd say the congestion is related to the teething. My son's nose always runs when he is teething. He also can get a slight diaper rash, have diarrhea, run a fever, etc. We keep a humidifier going when he sleeps and clear his nose frequently with a nosefrida, sometimes in the middle of the night when he can't get back to sleep because he's so congested. Also, we've found that ibuprofen lasts a little longer than tylenol for my son. If your baby doesn't like the cold teething rings try a cold damp washcloth instead.

@thehistoryofus- I haven't used baby orajel but I've been using Hyland's teething gel which is essentially the same thing. I have no idea if it's providing relief though! I don't love the gel because I'm not sure that it's actually treating the affected areas, ya know?

@venice4504- she doesn't like to chew the rings either! But I give them to her anyway. She chews the crap out of her hands. I guess because she's better able to manuevor them. I hope you continue to have no sleep issues- it's the worst!

We're in the same boat! He's congested too and likes chewing on his hands more than the teething rings. We're luckily not having any sleep issues (yet...)

Oh my that is no fun. I have a feeling we are headed that way soon and I'm not looking forward to it. Have you used baby orajel?

My poor baby girl spent her first Christmas teething and miserable. Children's tylenol worked a bit but she hasn't slept for more than a 3 hour stretch since Thursday. I've been giving her cold teething rings and hyland's teething gel/tablets. Anything else to recommend? Specifically to help her sleep? She's also congested. Is that related?

How long does this typically last? And how many times will it occur?

Whoa 20 questions- my bad :o{
