@mrs. wagon: Oh that sucks! I live across from a firehouse too, but I don't usually hear them thank goodness.

I just keep telling myself only 5 more months of this short term lease. Then we move out of state!

perhaps ask the management company if the landscapers could work in a different area around when you son naps rather than right outside your windows

@wheres_c: I know how you feel. We live in a great place but it's on a busy street, right down the street from the fire station and police station. And right in front of our house (literally 20 feet from our front door) is a busy intersection. In every season but the dead of winter we are constantly hearing peoples' way too loud stereos and loud motorcycles. Also the emergency vehicles always turn on their sirens right as they're passing our house since there's always cars waiting at the intersection that they have to alert to get out of their way. I'm not a SAHM anymore but when I was, I wanted to move every single day.

Hmm. I stopped using the white noise machine because he is a fairly good baby and sleeps through anything. Well except the noise of a hedge trimmer outside the window. I'll try turning it on next time and see if it makes a difference.

I think I'll ask the complex how often and what times the landscapers come and try and work around it.

Mostly I'm just venting. I hate living here and we only moved in a week ago. Theres a patch of grass right outside our windows and thought nothing of it when I reluctantly agreed with SO to move here. Well that grass is used for loud weekend late night parties, dogs pooping and barking, and loud landscaping.
I miss our old place

I once asked a powerwasher to stop and come back in half an hour. He didn't mind since it was close to lunchtime anyway. But that was a one time thing. The landscapers might not have any control over the timing of their work... AND your baby's nap schedule may change! I also vote for loud continuous white noise. We love it!

I agree with trying a white noise machine to help drown out the noise. The landscapers were hired to do their job.

I'd mention it to the apartment managers. The landscapers are simply doing the job they've been hired for.

Maybe get a white noise machine to help drown out some of the outside noise? You might appreciate the ruckus they cause now because it could help your LO be a better sleeper in the future!

So we just moved to a new apartment and all they seem to do all day is cut the grass, the hedges, blow leaves etc.
Its hard enough to get baby to sleep during the day as it is, now they just woke him up. Again.

Should i say something? If so, to the workers, or to the complex?
I dont want them knowing im alone with baby but im so tired of them interrupting his nap.

How much yard work can you do people???
Now i dont ge to eat lunch :(
