@oliviaoblivia: thanks, I did plan on bringing it up, I think I'm more concerned with his lack of interest? The only thing he seems to like is his floor mat that has all the things hanging from it. He likes to grab at those, but it's directly in front of his face so I do t know if that counts. It's almost as if, that if he has to put effort into reaching for it he's not interested.

I'd bring it up at his nine month appointment, even if it's not a concern having a doctor tell you it's OK will do much more good than us internet people.
For some milestones it's just things they're not interested in doing. If he's working on crawling and presumably using his hands to do so, it's probably fine.

I know, I know...I'm just paranoid, but I feel like DS still isn't using his hands very well. So when did you LO start holding thier bottle, and when were they able to really grab an object. At 81/2 months he's still swiping at things really fast, and doesn't like to pick things up. He also has no interest in holding his own bottle, or any any of the million toys I've tried to get him interested in. I know I'm not suppose to compare DS to other kids but it's hard. I know 4 other babies who were born within a month of him in either direction who are doing both things on top of crawling, which he also is not. The crawling doesn't bother me because I see him trying, so I know he'll get it one day, but he has zero interest in holding anything. Make me feel better ladies! Lol
