We used the On the Nile ones, they are really thick and absorbent. I think they're a little pricey but I liked them way better than the thinner ones. They're really soft organic cotton which was good for my son's sensitive skin.

We still use the prefold cloth diapers, even though DS isn't a spitter anymore. I use them to dry him off after his bath. I use the towel to wrap him up and then dry with the cloth diapers. Got ours at Babies R Us.

We got a couple as a gift, but I can never find them when I need them, so usually I just have a few baby washcloths stashed around various areas of the house.

Keeping them within easy reach is very important when you have spitup running down your cleavage!

I bought two packs of the gerber premium tri-fold (5 for $12) and then "decorated" them (I monogrammed some, did an applique letter with baby girl's name embroidered on them, and then the rest I just sewed fabric down the middle!)

We bought several packs of cheap, plain white wash cloths from Asda (the same thing as Walmart). I've been using them for wiping up spit up and clean up- they work just fine.

I actually made my own and it was so cheap and easy. I purchased an adorable owl-print flannel from joanns, and some dot minky. I used this pattern: http://naturesheirloom.blogspot.com/2011/07/simple-burp-cloth-tutorial-wfree.html though I made it a little bigger (I just used it as a stencil and drew it bigger)
It was sooo stinkin easy, and cheap. I definitely love the flannel and minky combo the best. I had made some with a cotton knit and don't like it, it's not as absorbent.

same as artbee. we used these:

http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-Prefold-Birdseye-Organic-Diaper/dp/B001CKYN5A/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1332522527&sr=8-13

got a ton of use out of them with charlie, and still using them with olive. now i use them when i'm nursing olive at night to catch the let down from the other boob. :)

We used burp cloths from babies r us... or gerber, I believe. they're just small, terry-like very thin cloths. We probably used those more than ANYTHING else in the beginning! I didn't like using cloth diapers because they're huge. I just wanted something I could bunch up and throw in my pocket or bag.

I did buy cloth diapers because everyone told me I'd need them, but I never used them for anything.

We used burp cloths as bibs in the beginning! Then we did start using bibs. But depending on how much your baby drools and spits up, you can go through several bibs a day. I found it easier to keep a burp cloth lying around for quick mop-ups, even mopping spit up off of his bib to make the bib last just a bit longer.

I used the cheap old fashioned cloth diapers. I think it depends on your LO if you'll need a lot of them though. LO had reflux so she spit up constantly. Our burp cloths got a lot of use out of them.
