@SweetCaroline: I used these and tested once a day (in the AM). The pamphlet in the box tells you what day to start testing (assuming you know how long your cycles are). I think testing once a day is enough, but I know some people who did twice a day. I liked this kit because it showed both high and peak fertility (i.e. when ovulation was likely coming in the next 24 hours and when to stop testing).

https://www.amazon.com/Clearblue-Ovulation-Predictor-featuring-ovulation/dp/B00AOJ5R8W/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1529427934&sr=8-5&keywords=clearblue+ovulation+predictor

I also tracked my basal body temperature with this thermometer (measures temps to the hundredth):

https://www.target.com/p/basal-digital-thermometer-up-up-153/-/A-51979934

I also assessed my cervical mucus and cervix openness and softness from the time I stopped bleeding until I was certain I had ovulated.

Some people might think this all sounds a lot to do, but I found it really educational and empowering (and super interesting since I'm a nurse). I tracked by basal body temp for almost six months before the month we knew we wanted to start trying just so I could try to pinpoint my ovulation. Plus basal body temp is a heck of a lot cheaper than using OPKs monthly! I used OPKs and cervical assessment/mucus testing for three months before we wanted to start just to be darn sure.

One thought I had (just because the OPKs are ridiculously expensive)....If your periods are regular (like cycle length within a few days), you're probably fine just doing the BBT/CM method (if you're comfortable with that)...start the baby making when you start noticing the first signs of fertile mucus and continue for a day or two after the temp spike.

This link might be helpful if you're interested in learning more about BBT/CM...

The same website also has a link on OPKs that has some good info...

GOOD LUCK!!!

I also use Wondos. I start testing on CD10 1x/day and switch to 2x/day when the line starts getting a little darker. I typically ovulate on CD14/15. It's best to test between 12pm-8pm so I usually test when I get home from work at 4:30.

I also track CM and my temperature (sort of - I have an Ava bracelet that does it for me).

I bought these which came with pregnancy tests too :)
Also started testing around CD10 and then twice a day closer to CD13 for me. I used FAM for prevention before my first daughter and usually ovulated around CD16 but hadn’t charted since she was born and I got a non-hormonal IUD. I ended up ovulating on CD13 the cycle I got pregnant.

I used Wondfos from Amazon and started testing at CD10 each cycle. Twice per day starting at CD12. I typically O around CD15.

I took BBT and tracked CM when trying to get pregnant with my first but after a few months you learn your cycle and I found just using OPKs was sufficient.

What kind of OPKs do you recommend from Amazon? When do I start using them and how often?

Any other suggestions for tracking my cycle closer? This month has a software launch at work so it's super stressful. I don't have time to read TCOYF but was hoping to do a little leg work as prep for TTC in July.
