@Bookish: wow, sttn? That's amazing... I'll be glad with our 6hr stretch back- anything else is a bonus! Yeah I've heard after 6-8 weeks they get much more fun! S is starting to want to play and enjoy her activity mat for the first time this week- but she still has the attention span of a goldfish and after a few minutes I need to find something else to entertain her with before she starts crying again!

Ours was at about 5.5 weeks or so. There were about five brutal days, and two nights that were tough. But as soon as it ended, she was like a different baby. Hope it ends for you soon!

@illumina: Our 6 week spurt hit about 5 weeks and it stunk. Constant nursing, constant fussiness. That being said, once it was over, she STTN. We had another rough spurt at 8 weeks, but that one only lasted a weekend. Sucks, but hang in there, it's amazing how much more fun she got after 8 weeks!!

@Cherrybee: Thanks  In my head I know it is temporary, but I have to keep convincing myself of it, rather than racking my brain thinking it's something we've done differently/are missing. It's even harder when Dh refuses to believe babies go through growth spurts at the same time and as for wonder weeks... won't even hear of them!! grr.

For us, the 5 week wonder week and the 6 week growth spurt came one after another with no breaks and lasted a full two weeks. I have no idea which days were down to what, but baby girl was ravenous the entire time. She devoured 150ml of formula every two hours - she doesn't eat that much every 3-4hrs at 3 months!! She was really cranky too! Good luck! It feels like forever when you are in the thick of it but it does pass!

Ours was around the same time, just before 6w. She was fussier and hungrier, napped longer and up an extra couple times at night. It lasted about three days with one day being pretty bad (lots of crying!)

S will be 6wks on Wednesday. Since Saturday night she has been really fussy and waking often. Is this too early for the 6wk growth spurt? My wonder week app shows she should be going through a leap now, but I thought we had this the week before at 4.5wks (ending last Sunday) as that week she fought naps so hard and was pretty cranky (though her night time sleep wasn't affected). We had a whole week break last week and she basically slept pretty much the entire time, napping for 3-4hr stretches, eating less frequently and for shorter periods and just generally being a happy baby. We even got a few 5-6hr sleep stretches at the beginning of the night, which made for happy Mummy and Daddy too!

Then yesterday she wanted to eat pretty much all day. It was so hard to put her down and if we did it was for about 10-15mins and she was crying again. The last two nights she has been waking every 2hrs to eat and taking ages to go back down again.

How long did your LO's 6wk growth spurt last and can someone reassure me this sleep regression is only temporary?
