@Pumpkin Pie: I dont have the Ikea chair but if you want a chair without fabric that is easy to clean you should consider the fisherprice booster seat. we have been using it since LO was 6months and now she is nearly 4 years old and still uses it. It straps on to any regular chair

Aren't there two versions of the Ikea high chair? For those of you that love it, which one do you have? The plastic one with the metal legs? Or the wooden one?

@Mrs. Lion: our stools don't have backs, so not booster friendly. We went to Ikea yesterday and they are sold out of the high chair so there decision was made for us.

@Pumpkin Pie: we eat at our island for every meal (unless we have guests over) and my almost three year old sits in a Phil & Teds Lobster chair. One of our best purchases ever!!

My DD sits on our island in a Safety First clip on booster chair (a big no no, I know), but when she's a bit taller we'll get another Lobster.

(Bonus: you can bring it to restaurants!)

@Mrs. Lion: we actually have the fisher price booster, but we sit on stools and eat at the counter so I need a high chair. Though I'm guessing when LO2 comes along, we'll need to eat at the dining table.

@Pumpkin Pie: I also have the exact same one that @MamaCate: linked to. They are both really easy to clean. The fisher price one has a much bigger tray, which has pros and cons. I like that the safety 1st one has a tray that swings in and out. It was a constant battle to find a place to put the fisher price tray without clipping it in when it wasn't in use. We still use both (my 3 year old sits in the fisher price one and my 1 year old sits in the safety 1st one, but they can both sit in either).

@MamaCate: @MamaCate: I second the Fisher Price EZ Clean. My mom has it at her house and it makes me regret our Graco Blossom every time we use hers. (And I actually love the graco blossom. I just think that the EZ clean is even better).

And I will say that if you prefer a traditional highchair the graco blossom is pretty great. It has a fake leather seat which is very easy to wipe clean. For a particularly bad smoothie spill we had I removed the pad and just laid it flat on the ground and wiped it with a warm wet cloth. Could never even tell and I thought it would surely stain purple.
Straps can be thrown in the wash in a lingerie bag.
And it's a 4-in-1 so it does eventually convert to more of a booster that can be pulled up to a table. And has a removable booster as well.

Cons: price and large footprint

@Pumpkin Pie: for an affordable alternative, we have this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Booster-Seat-Blue-Green/dp/B00CSAWIP0/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1460926934&sr=8-2&keywords=fisher+price+booster+seat

It is $35 on Amazon and all plastic so easy to wipe. We strap it to our dining room chairs. LO1 used it from 6 months until 3 years old and now LO2 is in it. Best value!

Loved it! Once you know how to take the tray off, it's super easy (keep a foot on one chair leg, pull the front clips toward you and lift up). I just took it outside and hosed it off regularly. My oldest used it through 2.5, my youngest stopped at 2 since only a booster was acceptable to him. I miss using it!

I'm just looking for a wipeable highchair because the fabric on our current one gets so gross so fast. I figure if we get another one, we can use it for LO#2. Are there any other affordable alternatives?

I love our's, but my son is long and skinny. He's under 25 pounds at 19 months. We have the inflatable insert with cloth cover that we wash when it's dirty and Lysol wipe the rest clean. The tray is kind of a pain in the ass but I watched a YouTube video on how to remove it and it went a lot better with practice. We liked it because we started solids early and our son was small and it fit him well with the insert. Only thing to note is that it's a 3 point harness, if you care. We ditched the tray and had him pulled up at the table with us starting at 15-16 months with an EZPZ mat so the tray thing doesn't even bother us anymore.

If you want something even smaller we also use the FP booster and it's pretty much the same idea but you attach it to an existing chair and it's awesome for restaurants and travel for $25.

We like it! Just got it last week. Our almost five month old (big for his age) is too small for it so I'd guess it would fit small to average toddlers! It's not an eye sore in the kitchen like so many high chairs are!!

Hated it.
Takes up a ton of room, the tray is nearly impossible to take off, I tripped on the legs constantly.
My toddlers wouldn't fit in it.
I really do not understand the hype.

I'm thinking of getting the Ikea highchair because I hate the fabric covering on our, and it's not easy to clean. Do you like the Ikea highchair? Will it fit a toddler comfortably? Anything best about it?
