One of my LO's was on the cusp of an ADHD diagnosis at about 6 years old. Two things made a huge difference: diet (limiting sugar especially), and setting him up for success with enough creative/physical outlets. Unless his behavior is really, really far outside the realm of normal, most professionals will be reluctant to dx anything that young. So i think he has a little time to mature still but I would def keep an eye on it. And it also needs to be a problem at two places ie school and home. I’m talking leaving Target without groceries bad (for me that’s a big deal). He’s 4.5 and it seems like his behavior has actually gotten worse in the past few months instead of maturing.</p> <p>My mom is a psychologist and she thinks he might he be exhibiting some ADHD behaviors. He’s super smart but at pre K I’m hearing that he’s been spacey and unfocused lately.</p> <p>Any experience with an ADHD diagnosis at an early age? What type of treatments have you tried? Successful strategies? </p>
