Ive been sick and got dehydrated ...which is probably what caused my issues today. I went to the hospital (which was totally full!) and got monitored. I also enjoyed my first experience with a catheter because they wanted a totally clean urine sample. I'm home now and trying to just take it easy. The catheter was the worst part and now it hurts to pre because of it. Glad baby is fine and I'm going to be drinking water like it is my job from now on!

I have had every BH experience out there! I've gone to get monitored several times, and even though it's a pain and a little scary, better safe than sorry. They can tell you right away if you're experiencing true contractions, and they can check and see if you're dilated at all. Good luck..!!!

I've had SERIOUS scares...I mean I was in so much pain sometimes that I couldn't breath or walk....but then again, they never got consistent and they never got closer together. So, I'd just suffer through them and they'd go away. Keeping drinking water and see if you can lay down during your lunch break.
Despite all my insane BH, I was only 1cm dilated and 25% effaced at 36w

I can sympathize! Every new cramp is something I have to analyze - I can't figure out what they all mean or if any of them are BH. Last night I had one bad one -- the only way I can describe it is to say it was like getting a side stitch from working out too hard -- it hurt to take a deep breath in - but then went away after a few minutes. Who knows what that was.

@MamaMoose: Thanks! And it very well might just be gas...it just feels different than usual so that's why I'm a little weirded out. No ability to lay down/go home at lunch time, but if things don't let up soon I might just have to go home for the day. DH and I ride together, so he would have to do the same :(

@highwire: wahhhh! ditto to what @mamamoose said -- my doc said to call if i have more than 5x in a hour; changing positions is the key... they should subside if theyre bh contractions; if not, could be real contractions.

i did breathing exercises last night and laid down after my bath which helped a ton!

feel better!!!

@highwire: Drink lots of water and be sure to empty your bladder as soon as you feel like you need to. I know those two things sound counterintuitive but they are the two most important things to slow contractions. And honestly... if you can head home to lie down for your lunch hour, I would do it. If they go away after doing all that you should be just fine. But my doctor did tell me to call if I get more than 4 in an hour and can't get them to stop. I haven't actually had any BH but I did have my little scare with real contractions at 26 weeks so she gave me all sorts of rules about contractions.

Also... is it possible it's gas? Sometimes my belly will feel tight for a while and it will turn out to be gas. But that's a constant feeling, not something that comes and goes.

Mine are still going on and its all over and only in my like...uterus area. It doesn't feel like it is coming from my stomach or any other place. :(

@highwire: can you seriously stop!!

after a scare at the tale end of the 2nd trim, i haven't had any bh contractions (painful ones at least).... until last night!

cramped on/off again in tightening kinda painful contractions on my right side.... ended up taking a warm bath and it subsided after that... but now today i'm period like cramping on the left side....

UGh.

Something has been doing on the last 20 minutes or so, and I'm trying not to freak myself out. I haven't had any cramping or pain or bleeding at all the entire pregnancy, so this is new (I'm 31 weeks, 5 days). I'm having like tightening/pain all over intermittently. I thought I needed to use the restroom, but I nothing happened there. I'm drinking water and trying to stay still at my desk for now...
