I bought the Chicco Keyfit 30, but had also been recommended to go with a good stroller vs the travel system. I was never able to try out the Chicco travel system in a store, but I did try lots of strollers. Rather than get a smaller stroller and then a jogging stroller later on, I just went with the Baby Jogger Summit X3. I haven't used it yet with the baby (due in 2w), but the Chicco fits into the adapter quite easily, and the adapter doesn't need to be removed before folding - which can be done one handed.

I think the bravo is going to give you a different experience than the cortina. With my first I had a chicco car seat, and a city mini. I bought the car seat adapter for the city mini, and I don't think that set up would be any bulkier than the bravo.
The front wheel on my city mini is broken, so I'm looking to replace my stroller for number two. I'm actually considering the bravo or one of chicco's new jogging strollers. Now that I have experience I know the most important feature (for me) is a large shade canopy.

I have the Chicco Cortina, and I regret it. I wish I had gotten a snap n go or similar, and later an umbrella stroller. We are not big stroller people.

I'm mirroring other responses, I wish I would have saved my money on a travel system and put the money toward a better stroller. I think it was something I thought "every mom had to have" without really thinking about it. I hate that stroller, we hardly use it.

Wow, so interesting that pretty much no one recommends getting a travel system! Guess my thoughts were off base.

Would love to hear anyone else's experience though!

I was considering the Chicco travel system but when we played around with it at the store it didn't seem to fold as nicely and was bulky. We ended up registering for the keyfit caddy frame and a City Mini for when LO is older. A number of mom friends have reinforced my decision with stories from their own experience.

@MRSJX3: you did the right thing! I WISH I would have gotten that advice. I have the city mini gt double stroller and it is so easy to maneuver! Well for a double stroller anyway!

We got the chicco cortina travel system with our first. I hated it. The stroller is way too bulky. I wish I would have gone with a snap n go to use with the infant seat and then invested in a nicer stroller. Maybe even something that would have converted to a double since we knew we wanted kids close in age.

One of the best pieces of advice I got was to not get a travel system. I was advised to do it all separately. I have the key fit 30 and a baby jogger city mini gt. I am borrowing a snap and go until my daughter is big enough for the city mini. My friend told me that a really good stroller is worth the investment.

I never used the big stroller (Cortina?) and just used the Chicco Keyfit caddy with the infant seat until we switched to a convertible seat and umbrella stroller at 7 months. I tried selling it for 2 years before I gave away the Cortina.

We got a Chicco Cortina. LO hasn't arrived yet, but I have assembled the stroller and practiced installing the seat. So far I like it a lot - the stroller folds up very easily and seems easy to maneuver. Of course, I have nothing to compare it to other than pushing a wheelchair.

I didn't get a travel system because the strollers were so bulky! You should look into the Snap'n'go. It's super lightweight and is a breeze to load and unload in the car, plus it doesn't take up a lot of room.

We had the Graco literider stroller system for DS and while it was lighter and easier to handle than a lot of stroller systems, I still thought it was cumbersome and we ended up getting an umbrella stroller.

We are going to buy a Chicco Keyfit for DS#2 (we need a new infant carseat) and probably buy the snap & go! We'll either buy a double stroller or double umbrella (should there be a need later on) or just use the single umbrella we have for when DS#2 is out of the infant seat.

We have pretty much decided on a Chicco infant seat. We have been looking at travel system strollers. I'm not 100% sure about getting one, but it seems like it might come in handy so I'm inclined to get it.

Do you have one? Do you like it? Do you really use the stroller that much? I am interested in the new Chicco Bravo. We tried it out at Babies R Us and it seemed a lot lighter and easier to handle than the other (traditional) Chicco strollers. The reviews online seem great with the exception that it doesn't have a "snack tray" for when the baby is older.

I'm 17 weeks, so we have a lot of time.
