@katiew92081: I remember it being 153/110 - for the last three weeks I was on strict bed rest, was told not to do anything but bathroom breaks and doctors appointments. I had biweekly BPP ultrasounds and NSTs.

@rachiecakes: How high was your bp? Mine's around 140/80-90 right now, but my midwife just tells me to relax and stay hydrated. And up my co q 10, but I feel funny doing that. Already feels like she has be taking too much.

I was hospitalized at 37 weeks with pre-e, I had had massive swelling and high blood pressure but never felt "off", headaches, nothing. In fact, I felt pretty great aside from the swelling (and pregnancy carpal tunnel, that was a bitch). I had low blood platelets, too.
They released me on strict bed rest because my BP would improve significantly if I was at rest and my hospital doesn't like interventions like inductions or csections unless they are a true emergency.
I was induced at 40w1d because my blood pressure skyrocketed again and I wasn't dilated showing any signs that he was on his way.. little bugger.

Update: swelling is way down but bp is still elevated and have had a dull headache like the kind you get in gloomy weather. Gonna talk with midwife and figure this out.

The swelling was my worst symptom. I only had +1 protein and pressures were acceptable... That is until delivery when everything skyrocketed. They needed to control my pressures at that time even though delivery was the cure.

@pumpkinspice: that happened to me...I went to the hospital Sunday night, by my midwife's advice and they said my bp was ok...except that it was still high for ME, but they of course didn't have the records to compare it by.

@blackbird: I'm gonna wait til morning and check everything and update my midwife. She just told me to up my protein and give it another night.

I had pre-e and delivered @ 34 weeks just a couple months ago . I had had high blook pressure all along and the protein in my urine had increased over the course of the pregnancy. I never had any swelling, headaches or vision changes though. My doctor did say that a headache caused by pre-e would feel like the worst headache you've ever had in your life. Not sure if this is helpful and I'm definitely not an expert but if you have any other questions let me know!

Congrats on making it to 37 weeks, good work :)

I just did the 24urine and tons of blood work for my elevated BP readings. Of course I'm running high at home and not at the office lol She also checked my reflexes before ordering the urine and blood work which I was confused about. But, one of my good friends is a nurse and she said my reflexes could be over active because of the BP or something lol
The swelling hasn't really been too bad. And I haven't had headaches or anything yet.
I had Pre E with both my previous pregnancies.

@katiew92081: oh, and just wanted to say not all symptoms present themselves. So just because you don't have protein doesn't mean anything... I say trust your gut! Your body, your baby- you know it better than anyone. If something feels off def go see your mw!

I wrote a blog post about it. It's scary, but you are past 37 weeks which means if anything changes you can be induced and still have a healthy baby and delivery!

@katiew92081: I did the 24 hour urine catch and there was no protein in my urine either. Can't hurt to just call the midwife for a quick chat. Maybe she can explain addition reasons why she isn't concerned.

@highwire: The swelling does concern me, cause I gained 7 pounds in a week, just from the swelling. There wasn't any trace of protein in my urine on Monday, though, which I thnk why my midwife wasn't too concerned.

My gut is telling me something's off, though. I may just be pregnant-lady paranoid.

Here's what I had: Blood pressures with the top number in the 150s/160s every time, visual disturbances, MASSIVE swelling (40 lbs in the last trimester), headaches.

I was induced at 40 weeks, 4 days after I showed my doctor a log of my blood pressures that I had taken over the weekend at home.

Have you taken Tylenol for the headache? My midwife says that a Pre-e headache won't go away with traditional remedies, so taking Tylenol and seeing if that helps is a good first step.

Do you have any visual disturbances? Or rib pain? Those are both signs too.

Well, I've successfully made it to 37 weeks, which I am very proud of. After having ds at 32 weeks, this is a huge deal.

But, now my blood pressure is high...not really high, but high for me. My readings at my appointments have had the systolic under 120. Now, they're reading upwards of 135.

I have swelling, but my midwife is still chalking that up to regular pregnancy woes, but she's also got me on co q 10 and taking daily epsom salt baths.

And, I'm not sure what kind of headache I'm supposed to be looking for. It's cold and rainy today, which makes me feel like I have a sleepy headache...but of course with everything else going on, I'm paranoid. I might just be psyching myself into a headache, lol.

Any anecdotes or advice would be very welcome!
