@travelgirl1: Yep, or whatever is soothing. So, you could rub her back, belly, hands... just something that would help her relax enough to drift off.

@Weagle: She can't go down on her belly so if she's on her back, would you just rub the head?

@bunnylove08: I'll give that a go, thanks!

I'm not sure if this method works, but it works 50% of the time for us. I put a pacifier in her mouth, hold her towards my chest, like I'm nursing her and do a little bounce rock and when she is drowsy, I will put her in the crib. Sometimes shes knocks out sometimes she doesnt.

We've done CIO and not. Both have worked at different times. The non-CIO method that works now is this:

Diaper change, white noise and lights off
Hold LO and sing a song(s) while she calms down
Lay LO down and rub/pat head/back until very drowsy or asleep... depending on whether or not she's really fighting it.

Sometimes she does cry, but I'm right there with her soothing her, so it's not CIO.

A is 16 weeks old and I'm thinking some kind of sleep training could be good soon, but I'm not ready to let her CIO yet.

* I have nothing against CIO at all, it's just not for us, at this point.

Could anyone share any non CIO methods that worked for them?
