We never actually got a double pram. DS was 2 when DD was born, he continued to use the pram we always used with him and we bought a carrier for DD. so he would be in the pram or walking and I would be wearing DD. For us, it was a much better arrangement than a double pram, fitting it in the car and the initial cost of it after we bought an expensive pram for DS.

I do know people who use the phil and teds pram and loved it, and I know someone who has the city select one. It looked HUGE, not something I would want to use on a daily basis.

@MrsCB: That just means the associate didn't know how to do it - /facepalm! It's super easy to make the switch! Basically, you just snap out the adapter and snap out the second seat. It literally takes about 20 seconds, tops. Oh, and if you choose to leave the adapter in, it just means that you have 2 options for the main seat if you are using the stroller as a single stroller. :)

@littleveesmommy: I can just hear it now . . . "but s/he's kicking me!"

We have the britax b-ready but I haven't used it with the second seat yet. Wait until the summer and they usually have a sale where if you buy the stroller you can get the second seat free. So far, I love it. Folds up easily and the top seat can face forward or backward. I did lots of research before we bought it and it just seemed like the best option for the price.

@MsLipGloss: I agree on the B-Ready having better multiple seating arrangements than the UBV. It seems with the UBV, the top kid would be constantly kicking the bottom kid. =P

We have the Britax B-Ready but haven't tested it with two seats yet. I originally wanted the B-Agile but then later decided that a stroller that would convert to hold 2 babies would probably be better. I have no complaints of the B-Ready for a singleton and am actually excited for when I get to add that second seat! We were down to the City Select vs B-Ready, but I ended up liking the B-Ready more because I didn't like how on the City Select the front baby is essentially the "bumper". On the B-Ready, a bit of the front chassis / wheel protrude beyond the front kid and it just seemed safer to me. Also, the B-Ready second seat fully reclines so it can accommodate a newborn - I thought this was neat because (1) for walks just in the neighborhood toddler can be in top seat while baby sleeps in reclined second seat, (2) for trips involving car ride, baby gets car seat attached to top and toddler sits in second seat (which I read that they like) with no need for a second seat car seat adapter. So only really one additional purchase of a second seat would be needed to welcome the second kid assuming you will re-use same infant car seat for second kid.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: @MrsCB: I have the B-Ready and love the multiple seating options, and that both occupants can have good views. That being said, I do disagree with @MrsCB regarding having to keep the second seat on all the time . . . I use my B-Ready as a single stroller and love it! I chose the B-Ready because I wasn't sure whether we would have a second child, and if we did, I knew they would be fairly close together (in age). The B-Ready edged out the UBV because of the better multiple seating arrangement options.

@T.H.O.U.: I wouldn't be surprised if that accounts for a lot of the overall popularity of it. But even at Buy Buy, they said the CS sells better. So weird to me, because I really thought I'd like it more and did not.

I don't have the Phil & Teds, but a good friend of mine does. The one drawback I see is that you lose basket storage with the bottom seat attached. Their feet go in the basket, leaving little room for extra stuff.

@MrsCB: I think the City Select might be more popular just because BRU carries it and so more people can test drive it in person.

I had to buy from Britax B Ready from Amazon and hope for the best. Luckily I love it!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Yeah, it was a beast. Meanwhile, the b-ready I could lift with both seats attached and drive with one hand, even with the weight we added to simulate 2 kids.

ETA: But they did tell us at Buy Buy that the CS is a super popular stroller, more than the Britax. We just didn't love it as much. No fancy baby boutiques that might carry one or both?

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Yeah, it doesn't just click in and out. We asked at Buy Buy if we could just remove it and they said it wouldn't be that easy.

That was one of the benefits of the City Select to me, that if we only had the younger child, we could use it as a single stroller. But DH and I weren't huge fans of the CS, especially the maneuverability. Maybe if we weren't using it right at the same time as the b-ready, we wouldn't have disliked it that much. But the CS frame is so long with 2 seats and the b-ready is so much more compact and handles so much better.

Also, if you're concerned about toddler visibility, you could buy another attachment to put the infant carrier on the bottom instead of the 2nd seat. Obviously you'd probably need the 2nd seat at some point, but I'm sure even with the extra attachment it'll still be much cheaper than the city select. But I have seen a lot of reviews saying toddlers generally like to sit back there.

@MsMini: I agree, we have gotten so many compliments on the B Ready. I think the thing that really makes it stand out is how high up the child sits. Even in comparison to the B Agile, its just a nicer stroller.

We have the Graco version of the sit and stand. I think it's called the Ready 2 Grow, or something similar? It has a regular front seat and the back seat comes off the accommodate a child sitting on a lower bench seat or standing on the kickboard. It has like 12 different configurations that can be used with two kids ranging from 0 to 5 (or so). For as much as we use the stroller, I like it. It also has a big basket, which is great for when we walk to the park for a picnic!

I haven't been using ours as a double yet, but we bought the b-ready in particular because of the way the second seat works on it. The second seat goes on and off so easily, and you still have a good amount of cargo carrying ability with it. The car seat adapter goes on either seat, and the seats have a ton of flexibility in the way you configure them.

As a single, the stroller handles and folds easily (it is a 2 hand fold, but I have never found that to be an issue). It pushes really easily, and I have had tons of compliments from strangers on how it looks, and a few older ladies have mentioned that it looks like it handles really easily. I know a co-worker of mine, after seeing it a few times actually bought one for her daughter.

I have the B-Ready and love it. It is bigger than the B Agile but I think if you are toting around two kids, the extra size is worth it. They have lots of seat configurations.

I've heard that the view isn't as great, but lots of people say that their toddlers LOVE it down there. Its also closer to the ground so its easier for the toddlers to climb in and out.

We did a lot of research on strollers that convert from single to double since we want kids close together, with our final two being the City Select and the Britax B-Ready. I really thought I'd like the City Select more, especially if we were having twins (we had a high probability due to fertility treatments). But I really love the Britax SO much more. We only tried the CS as a twins stroller (so two car seats) and it was so much more difficult to maneuver and fold. The Britax handles like a dream and the fold was really easy for me, even with both seats on.

The bad thing is that you pretty much need to keep the 2nd seat on all the time in the Britax, which you don't have to do with the City Select. But it does kind of fold in a bit if you want it to.

If you have a Buy Buy Baby nearby, you should totally go test drive both. They were so helpful with us, letting us put extra weight in the strollers so we could get a real feel for how they'd work.
