The toilet seat with a little seat that flips down and a step stool. That was it and we loved the setup!

@HazelEyes: @.twist.: Not to worry, ladies! The 2T/3T will fit! My boy wears 18m pants most of the time because 24m/2T fall down, and the 2T/3T undies fit just fine.

@.twist.: Xander's the same - the few times he's used our big toilet without an insert, he's asked me to hold him because he's afraid of falling in! And he'll sit all the way at the back and prop his legs up on the seat - so no pooping in that position!

I'd skip the training seat, but honestly, he's so tiny he'd fall right in. His little cheeks don't even come close to touching the edges of the toilet seat. He really needs an insert. LOL

@.twist.: @HazelEyes: the training are just more absorbent then regular underwear. We never used them.

We never used a little potty. We got an insert but she never really used it. She used a step stool to get up on the potty. Now she just sits herself up there without the step stool.

Just make sure you have wine for yourself!

It's awesome. She can put it on by herself and it's one piece. It has worked really well for us and our tall toilets.

@HazelEyes: We just got him regular little boy undies. Like this: http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Spider-man-Toddler-Boys-Briefs/dp/B00U6EET6G/ref=sr_1_4?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1447958415&sr=1-4&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=spider+man+underwear

I'm not sure if it makes a difference? But, I just thought why buy "training" undies when he'll have to transition again to regular undies. I felt like it was an unnecessary expense.

@.twist.: I'm joining the potty training ranks over Christmas Break too.... We have a potty seat for our tall toilet, and she's pooped there a couple of times, but I think we might have to bite the bullet and get a floor potty too. H is super tiny too for her age and has a tiny butt.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I've read that it's generally easier for kids to learn to go on the floor potty chairs, especially for poop, because they have the security of having their feet solidly on the floor and can more easily do the "squat" position for pooping. I'm sure it's possible to get away with just using the regular toilet, but in that case, I'd get some sort of stool or something to have against the toilet that they can put their feet on.

We didn't do the small ones just the inserts that go on the regular toilet (we have two--one for upstairs and one for downstairs). We also have a step stool. And unfortunately you'll probably need lots of paper towels and floor cleaner :silly: We had her wear underwear so I bought like 20 pairs of those. And some stickers for her reward chart. I think that's about it. Good luck!

@Adira: Thanks for the links! I was totally looking at the Summer Infant potty and was hoping an HBer would chime in about it.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: Part of the reason I want to get a floor potty is for the occasion where he may need to go without my assistance? I want him to be able to just sit down and go. He 100% cannot get up on our toilets. They are super tall and I honestly don't think he could do it safely.

Following! We are also thinking of taking the potty training plunge over Christmas break. Our DD will be 22 months then, so I am hoping we'll be lucky and she'll love it! All we have is a built in little seat on the toilet and was planning on using just that, but do you think I need a little floor potty too?
