@LBee: yep! He'll be 12 weeks tomorrow.

I haven't been back at work quite a week yet. He's still adjusting to taking a bottle but seems to be eating more each day.

I can't pump while working (well, I can but it really stresses me out.) I'm pumping at 6:30a, 12:30p, and then 9:30p before bed.

Nursing once overnight, clusterfeeding in the evening and once in the morning. I'm getting about 20-24 oz pumping but I'm worried my supply will decrease going so long from morning til noon, but there is no point in worrying because there isn't much I can do there.

Mine definitely changed over time (we breastfed until 19 months, but DD started getting cow's milk at 12 months and I stopped pumping around 11.5 months due to freezer stash). When my daughter was very young and especially when she STTN for a few months I had oversupply and would breastfeed full-time plus pump about 8-12 extra ounces (4-6 in morning to relieve engorgrment and 4-6 preemptively right before bed since I knew I'd become engorged by morning). Once I started work at 4 months post-partum (and DD wasn't STTN) I was pumping at work and getting 8-10 ounces in morning and 6-8 in afternoon...was sending 12 ounces to daycare. Over time my supply dropped off and anytime my morning pump was less than 6 ounces I added a lunchtime pump to try to make sure I'd hit at least 12 for the day. I'd recommend adding pumping sessions to increase output.

Pumping past when the milk came out was the main that that increased my supply last time around. It sows take about 48-72 hrs to see the effect, so you have to keep up with it and be patient.

I pump while at work at 9:30, 12:30, and 3:30 and get right around 5 oz each time, sometimes more, sometimes less. I pump for 20 minutes, but I get the most milk in the first 10.
There was a couple weeks where I was only getting 3.5 oz and so I increased my time to 25 minutes until I was getting 5 oz again and have been able to decrease that.
I also nurse before work around 7 depending on when E eats and usually get between 5 and 8 oz this session. I'm able to stash 1 bag/5 oz a day.

Lately I've been getting bloody milk on the left side if I go over 20 minutes so I really have to watch that!

MIne seems to have decreased a bit lately, but I think that's, in part, due to DD eating a lot more solids (she's 8.5 mos). I pump 3x/day on M/W while at work and usually pump between 12-14oz. DD is taking anywhere from 12-15oz while I'm gone, so it's working out okay so far. I have a pretty big freezer stash so I'm hoping to make it until 12 mos and then cut down the pumping at work. I think I'll probably keep the 3x/day until she 's a year though, as I'm worried I wouldn't be able to pump enough with just two times.

I think your baby is <6 months, right? My supply at that point was this:

6 AM: nurse (assumed 6 ozs)
6:15 AM: pump (I got 8 ozs)
9:00 AM: pump (I got 8 ozs)
12:00 PM: pump (I got 7 ozs)
3:00 PM: pump (I got 6 ozs)
6:00 PM: nurse (assumed 6 ozs)

All in all I pumped about 29 ozs a day (4 sessions) and he drank bottles of 18 ozs at that time.

It's really easy to obsess about your numbers. You'll find your groove! It never worked for me to pump past when the milk stopped flowing to increase my supply - despite lactation cookies, etc, my supply was always pretty consistent. I did notice some correlation between my water intake.

I've recently been dropping pumping sessions and noted that it really is a supply and demand thing across the board. Once I stopped pumping during the day, my supply greatly reduced for my morning and evening sessions. I also noticed this when I changed to pumping twice during the day as opposed to three times.

I'm kind of getting obsessed with my supply, pumping times and output. Tell me when you pump, do you nurse as well, and how much you get per session/daily.

Any tips on increasing supply? If I continue pumping even after milk has stopped flowing will that encourage my body to make more milk?
